Maelstrom Bow alternatives?

Since coming back to ESO recently I have been leveling up a Warden to get back in the game. Now that I'm getting back into the swing of things I decided to update my gear/builds on my established characters a bit. I was looking at setting up my 290cp stamina NB with an alcast build (Rampage) but even his 2nd build option (for people who don't have access to trials and only have 300cp) list the Maelstrom bow for the weapon (for some reason).

The weapon looks amazing and I would love to get it but I seriously doubt I can get through vMA (never even did the non vet version) and even if I could I don't know that I have the time or desire to run this over and over fighting the RNG monster for the bow. So with that out of the way..is there any other weapon or set that I can craft or work on getting that isn't as difficult to get so I can maximize my set bonuses?

I might also point out that the same situation probably applies for the monster helm/shoulders. I don't have any and not sure I have the time or patience to farm for those. If I had the monster helm/shoulders that would work to fill in the last 2 set bonus slots nicely but not sure how easy/hard it is to actually get.

I have max traits for all research except jewel-crafting (working on research/leveling of that now). My current gear setup atm is 5 Hundings + 5 Briarheart + 2 Gryphon's. Anyone have suggestions on improving that or is this about the best I can do?

It's not rocket science. If you do not have Maelstrom bow (and you probably do not have Master's as well) just use a bow from the same set as your front bar.

As for a 2-piece, well lot's of things work just depends what is your priority. Shackelbreaker can be a good choice giving you a weapon damage bonus. Stamina or health bonus is fine too.

You can also go for the masters bow in vDS, if you do it with friends and ask them to help you, there might be a good chance to get it.
As for crafted or easily farmed sets, I would go for Hundings, Vicious Ophidian/Twiced Fanged Snake and either monster set (Selene, Stromfirst are easy to get). Best thing is to look out for the golden vendor in Cyro if you don't wanna farm the monster sets and hope you get a set you like on the weekends.

Or if you're using a set like Berserking Warrior (advancing yokeda) you can simply get an agility bow for your back bar since the 2 piece stamina bonus is high.

Since every build can go 5-5-2 Maelstrom weapons are not as big of an advantage. Just use whatever set is on your front bar on your back bar as well.

Further, as you are looking at Alcast's Rampage build. His beginner build does exactly this with a Hunding's bow on the back bar to match the Hunding's weapons on the front bar.

So even Alcast solved your issue.
