ESO and Steam, Crowns, Upgrading, DLC, Chapters
So I haven't recently tried to buy anything (yet) but I bought the Steam Version of ESO 5 years ago. Back then I had to buy Crowns from steam and only on steam; I found this out when I logged into my official zenimax account, on this site, and attempted to buy some Crowns. Couldn't do it.
So since then have they changed how this works and can I just buy stuff for the game like normal without going through Steam? (I would literally have to reinstall steam by the way)
- Currently I'm subbed
- My client is the original client I D/L years ago (never uninstalled)
- Don't have Steam currently installed
Bonus Question (lol): If I must install and use steam to buy, say some Crowns for instance, is there a way to "convert" my Steam ESO client into a Normal User client?

[Note: in order to not use steam I am willing to completely start over, if need be.]
