Anyone else get "reported" by other players in PvP?

Its only happened a couple times to me but after killing them (once in Cyrodiil and once in BGs) I get a whisper they are reporting me. Both times were very squishy fast kill targets. What exactly do they think is going on? Do they think animation cancelling or attack weaving is reportable? Do they not think it might just be them? I was really just curious if anyone else has gotten this.

I get that fairly often for using “macros” for weaving. I wouldn’t worry about it if you’re not cheating

yeah, now that you said that I think the first guy did accuse me of macroing...not worried just wondered if this was a common occurrence or not...both times times they weren't very good at pvp so I just assumed they don't know mechanics like weaving and cancelling.

I've been reported multiple times for killing players who are either just bad, salty, or just not very knowledgeable. Either they can't kill me thanks to I'm running around tanking and they say I'm using CE or it's a salty streamer who I can't name but calls everyone a hacker using macros to players I use to one shot and they couldn't get my build so they accused me of cheating. Most of the PvP community are good people but the few that aren't are just there to try and make themselves feel special or bring others down.

Man there are some people on here that run an addon that lets them report players with a button click after targeting them. Those people also follow bot trains around and take videos of them and generally obsess over the whole “if you see something, say something” mentality. It’s a generational thing.

One guy even sent me the ticket number after reporting me. I literally sat there and laughed. I get most hate wsp and report threats at the weekend when the pve crowd swarm cyro. These lot just cry when they die - they aren't used to it. If they can't be arsed to learn how to fight real people and accept someone dies at the end if every fight then that's on them.

So many times, pay them no mind. They’re actually not reporting you or if they are then nothing will happen because you didn’t cheat and they have no proof.

I used to report @SHADOW2KK quite regularly, mainly for killing my targets too fast ... I couldnt deliver at least one hit to leach some AP.

Seriously ... just ignore them ... happened to me so many times I don't even count.

Happens quite a bit in PVP. Surprised that's all they whispered to you. I keep my Chat window closed in PVP. It's a game but some of these people think you really did something to them when you kill them.

First time I have heard of Bot Scanner 2000 used to report people in PVP. Sad. That's a very good addon for reporting Bots. I use it for that purpose quite often.

I get it all the time when I play my speedsorc (RIP expedition pots), I get called speed hacker a lot and people try to tell me that my Dizzy/DBoS/Execute combo can only be done with the assistance of macros.

Nothing ever really happens unless ZOS can actually tell someone is cheating.

You would literally have to fly around battlegrounds on your EP StamDK, oneshoting people with overload light attacks while, at the same time capturing Wayrest Castle for Aldmeri Dominion with an Elder Scroll on your back to make ZOS slightly suspicious that something is not working as intended.

Heck, there are dump people who report folks for mechanics they don't understand. Like this one guy who streams...can't name him here.. rhymes with SockCable.

He reported me on his stream a few times for popping a speed pot...said it was speed hacking lol.

If you are not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.

I have gotten these salty whispers in Cyrodil as well, telling me I am to be reported. I will in turn report that player for Harassment to ZOS.

Right. I think some people think that reporting another player is the fast track to getting them out of the game. Report all you want. If ZOS does not agree, nothing is going to happen. Well, unless someone reports someone else so much that ZOS takes action against the player doing the reporting. I've only heard one case where someone went crazy with reports against a player and got themselves banned, though.

My buddy got a one week comms ban in game after playing on a ganky Stamblade in Cyrodil. Still has no idea why, but it was right after he killed the same guy three times in a row, so it's likely it was that person, and 10 of that person's friends. I haven't gotten one from PvP, but I did get a 24 hour full comms ban while PvEing when some kid decided the brand new squishy tank dying over and over was the healer's fault and reported me after hate whispering me and getting a (admittedly stupid) response back from me. Microsoft just basically told me to eat a fat one when I tried to get help for it, so that sucked. People are ridiculous sometimes, but there is nothing we can really do about it.

Only every other day. There’s a very simple explanation for it. People think they are much better than they actually are. So when they get packed up by that solo or small group they were chasing, there’s a lot of cognitive dissonance.

“I’m a great player, and I have good build. The only possible explanation for the outcome of this fight is that they must be cheating”.

Maybe not, but Microsoft does (we're on Xbox), and most people report through them because it's easier to do it that way on console. It's not a simple "click" for us.

When the game first came out yeah , all the time. For people thinking I’m cheating because I was always getting emp and got ap too fast. Mass reported by guilds just because. Reported by tween tryhard groups later on. Etc.
