Warden's Scorch/Deep Fissure vs. Nerien'eth monster set. What is direct damage and what is not?

It looks like Nerien'eth monster set (which should proc with direct damage abilities) doesn't proc with Scorch/Deep Fissure.
At the same time, Master-At-Arms star in champion points (which increases direct damage abilities' damage) affects Scorch/Deep Fissure.

So, what's going on? Is the Scorch/Deep Fissure a direct damage ability or not? Is Nerien'eth set broken or not?

One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

It's a typical case of ZOS not properly handling their own changes. Velidreth should proc but it doesn't. It's a glitch. I mean, Velidreth is a set that used to proc almost on cooldown when using a siege before (lol).

Velidreth is all damaging sources not just direct damage, see here-
. When you deal damage, you have a 20% chance to spawn 3 disease spores in front of you after 1 second that deal 120-10320 Disease damage to the first enemy they hit. This effect can occur once every 9 seconds.

So it ought to proc on everything that does damage, 20% of the time.

Oh, guys, sorry. It's not Velidreth, it's Nerien'eth.

Deep Fissure procs Skoria and yet scales off of Master of Arms... In short it’s a direct damage skill that procs damage over time based sets rather than direct damage based sets

So, does it work as intended? Is Scorth made as exception by design?

Nerien'eth in general is a bad set imho, 2 seconds delay in dealing damage means that most mobs will leave the area of effect in pve before it explodes. I was testing it on Gold Coast and they were just running away from the crystal, it was so annoying :). Very rare proc from direct damage was another issue. For me the sets based on aoe/dot damage are way better.
