When you run a 5-1-1 heavy armor, which slots are preferable for the light and medium armor piece? How much of a difference does it make?

I've heard different opinions on this, so figured I would throw it out there.

Helm - Heavy
Chest - Heavy
Shoulder - Medium (?)
Gloves - Heavy/ light (?)
Belt - Heavy/ Light (?)
Legs - Heavy
Boots - Heavy?

Head, chest and legs should be the heaviest bc they give the highest armor rating. Belt the lightest.

This made sense to me when I checked the ratings, but I see a lot of people talk about medium on shoulders (monster), and even a few builds on youtube.

This is most optimal setup ;)

I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.

Depending on the sets you're using it's often easier to use the monster set for the light and medium spots since they came in different types. If you're using a crafted set or one of the few dropped sets that come in different armor types then gloves and belt are optimal.

Thank you. Are we talking about 1000+ resistance loss, or minor?

Most dropped sets come in fixed values, so if you use two dropped sets + monster you sholders is your best option.
    With crafted you want belt.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Chest is highest then legs then both head and shoulders given the same amount of armor.
