I have reported this before but no acknowledgement... On Mac you cannot align objects to surface. Please fix this.

The inaccuracy of the Home Editor with regard to Aligning objects to surfaces has never been corrected since the Homestead Update was released. At least, that has been the case for playing TESO on the NA megaserver. There is no reason to believe that the ZOS developers will correct it, since they're busy developing the next DLC and/or "chapter" to sell for Real Currency.

I don't know whether it can be executed with a Mac. But in my experience, the add-on Homestead Engineer has been very useful for determining the exact value of the "global" horizontal Y-axis for a highlighted furnishing. When I am confident that a furninishing is already correctly aligned, then I Select it with the Home Editor, and activate Homestead Engineer with a key-bind.

Homestead Engineer will disclose the numeric value of the Y-axis for the horizontal surface to which the selected furnishing is aligned. Any other furnishing that is correctly aligned with the same horizontal surface must have the same Y-axis number. Take note of the Y-axis value, then highlight another furnishing for which the alignment is suspect. For example, a chair or couch for which a character cannot obtain an Interactive Prompt to Sit.

Its Y-axis value will probably be higher or lower than the correctly-aligned furnishing. Homestead Engineer enables the user to adjust the number in increments of 1 unit or of 5 units, which you can do until the correct Y-axis value is shown. Then be sure to "apply" the numbers to the furnishing before exiting Homestead Engineer. To test for an Interactive Prompt for that furnishing, exit the Home Editor, too.

Of course, that is just the tip of the iceberg for using Homestead Editor. You can use it to adjust Pitch, Roll, and Yaw, too. Changing the z-axis value moves a furnishing up or down, changing the x-axis value moves it "forward" toward the player or moves it "back" away from the player. .....

Note: in my experience it is best to choose First Person perspective for the character which will be my agent before I activate the Home Editor, thus Homestead Engineer, too. It is also a good idea to change the character's movement speed to Walk.

@Shadowshire I'm not talking about inaccuracy. It's completely stopped any sort of alignment to surfaces, this has been introduced since the Murkmire patch.

Is the Alignment feature of the Home Editor not working at all? That is, when you press the key bound to it, is the key-press ignored, or does something "weird" happen with the selected furnishing?

For what it is worth, I don't recall using the Home Editor since the Mirkmire patch. So I don't know whether it is also bugged on PC NA.

Yup exactly that - it doesn't do anything when you press the align button. The object just remains where you currently have it.
