Spell Strategist Uptime Bug

The Spell Strategist set says it has a cooldown of 4 seconds with a 5 second proc (although Gina stated in the patch notes that it was 5 second cooldown with 5 second proc), but it seems that if you reapply the buff to the target within that 1 second overlap then the buff does not register that it was reapplied, causing an inaccurate uptime of this set. Using light attack spam only on a dummy I had an uptime of merely 30% of this set, however when waiting for the buff to expire and then light attacking again on a dummy it gave me an uptime of 86%.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Wrobel could you possibly shed some light on whether this is intended or is in fact a bug?

I am wondering whether this is a combat metrics bug or an actual bug with the set. You might want to try completely killing the target skeleton (use the small one from Clockwork City so it doesn't take forever) both ways and see if there is a significant difference in dps.

You can't trust combat metrics 100% on proc sets... For example, Briarheart shows a 98% uptime when that's impossible, and the mean weapon damage that shows supports that it's not happening.

Your mean spell damage is literally just 20 less than with 80% uptime so it doesnt take long to realize this is just CMX showing wrong. Stop trusting addons and check for yourself if your light attacks while you are spamming them are doing same amount of dmg,

In case the mean spell damage doesnt mean anything because it doesnt count it either then just compare the damage

Spell Strategist proc doesn't affect your spell dmg shown, it gives you 500 sd against that particular target, it can't be buffed with minor/major sorcery and it can't be seen on sd monitor.

The uptime mess is from CMX tho, keep an eye on your target and yourself to see if you have mark on.

I had same issue but then i realized not all of my light attacks where registering and most of them because of high ping where registering as medium attacks (Heavy in combat metrics)
So in fact in my case light attacks between skills are not pure light attacks and not procing this set

Its still a problem, there is another issue but more complicated to fix. Potentially this is also something that might get fixed by ZOS since it's related to something that might be a bug.

For the time being you can take the tick number and multiply it by 4 to get minimum uptime that you can compare to your combat time.

I haven't tested Spell Strat personally yet, but all other sources of "invisible" WD/SD (Automaton, Silks, Netch's, Axiom, Master Bow, etc.) are modified by % buffs. I'd assume SS functions the same way, though it's worth testing.

It doesn't scale with potions etc., its more like the DK buff
