Same game, same old crashing launcher...

Due to real life, I have found myself with a lack of time to play the game as I might wish (outside of logging in daily to get the reward.) However, the last week, I have had the time to finally open up the game and sit down to enjoy some RP.
.... Imagine my surprise when I find out the DLC for Murkmire has finally been released! I was so happy, and quickly set the launcher to update in the background while I piddled around, cleaning my house and whatnot.

How is this relevant? Well. I come back after an hour, knowing it was a larger download file, only to find that, to my surprise, the launcher wasn't even up any longer. Thinking I had closed it by accident when I stepped away, I opened it back up expecting it to download, and this time, I made sure not to minimize it for fear of accidentally closing it again. I come back, four minutes later this time, to it being closed again. Upon reopening the launcher, I notice it quickly jumps to 9% installed, then it immediately freezes up and crashes.

Now, I have tried many things to try and fix the issue, including:

1. manually Installing
2. downloading each individual file
3. reinstalling, reinstalling, reinstalling
4. Deleting the launcher patch manifest (This has resulted in the launcher getting further in the 'verifying' process before crashing out.

None of these have yielded any sort of hope inspiring results and I am finding myself quickly losing faith that this company is going to make sure their content is mostly bug free before implementing it. I've seen all of the issues with the Murkmire DLC, including the breaking of the daily rewards and bugging out of the crown store and that's horrific.

But that is mostly easy to fix. One would think. It can't be hard to look into launcher issues, right?

I am losing out on many, many daily rewards for the simple fact that no matter what I do I can't download the game, let alone the DLC and all the necessary patches.

If anyone can babystep walk me through whatever process will get this shitshow rolling again, I would be forever in your debt.

Update: After going through game consultant, and noticing a lot of failures, I have found this. So glad I have taken some form of networking to understand what I might have missed in years prior.

This goes on for some time, all failed after the first 4 have passed. If this is of any help. As I write this update, the launcher has failed once more at 9% verification of data..

This worked for me a while back (septembers update) and im in the process of trying it again.

un and reinstall, then do the repair option under game options on the launcher. im in the repair process rn, ill keep you posted as to if it works

I did this, multiple times now, and sadly it does not work for me. I have gotten to 80% on the verifying stage before it crashes, then when I try to reboot, it instantly freezes up the launcher where I cannot run another repair. So as of now, I am screwed out of the festival and the indrik mount...

@ZOS_GinaBruno Could we have some sort of answer to a very simple question? Since a lot of us seem to be having issues logging into the game, is there going to be an extension on the Witch's festival? It isn't really fair to say, "sorry guys, you're just SOL because you had issues with our game not wanting to work properly".

I am not sure if this is a fix or not, but I think I found something that moderately works.

I have deleted my game, that's been stated. However, what I didn't do (and seems to have made at least the verifying stage go quicker) has been to deleted another "Elder Scrolls" folder that I didn't realize I even had on my computer. As well, I deleted the PTR files as well (since I hadn't touched them since Summerset). This has made my time going through 'verifying' 0-80% about 75% quicker. As well, I have completely turned off my firewall. Risky move, but I am desperate to find a solution for not only myself, but for everyone else wanting to play this game. (I also stopped the auto-update and ran a repair on my launcher AFTER deleting both patch manifest and the program data.) I am also running this as an admin, in hopes that *** won't get twisted in Oblivion.

Take this with a grain of salt, as I am wracking my brain, but it APPEARS to be working for me currently, and I am soon to see 100% verifying if things continue on at this rate.

I will keep everyone updated.


EDIT: 100% verification and I am now downloading. I still don't know if this will work in entirety, but I have made it further than any other solution has managed to get me.

Edit 2: The launcher has frozen after 100% verification and crashed, though I still have high hopes for this method. If someone uses this and improves upon it, please let me know. My babyrage is kicking in.
