[ZOS] Steam accounts can't connect to server

So instead of fixing the EU server hamsters have chewed through the cables of the NA server...... Oh $%^^&&^$

I found a workaround that made the game work for me.

I closed steam and went to the installation folder of my ESO game.

Steam/steamapps/common/zenimax online/launcher

from there i launched bethesda.net_launcher.exe

The launcher popped up and i got to log in without a problem

Hope this works for some of you

was able to get into the NA server (I'm in NA) but just cant' get into the EU server - will try your work around!

I think if the above works then your account is 'unlinked' from steam. Most people will be prompted for userid and password. They will fail to login and then are told if game purchased on steam to login with steam

nope, same account, same characters, works fine for me.

I play for only a half-year but already have flashbacks about all this update/steam issue. I bet they will "fix it", but tomorrow it will go down again so they will take servers for maintenance again :P

ok when trying this workaround im prompted to log in. then it says this computer hasent been authorized and a code is sent via email. I hasitate now because, i had the game via zos 3 years ago and then bought it on steam. so not that im kicked out of steam now???

It is 12.30am here in the UK and I have been unsuccessfully trying to log in to the EU server since the servers came back up after the emergency maintenance. For those on continental Europe, it will be even later. I did briefly manage to log in to the NA server and kill a delve boss, but then just keep getting timed out on EU login. I have not managed to get the Steam workaround to work before and I don't propose to try it now. I have been an ESO+ subscriber since November 2016. Is this what I pay for? Still ZOS has not managed to sort out whatever is causing occasional problems with Steam logins. The trouble is that the occasional problems tend to be in event times, so it suggests that there is a bottleneck. Right now there are probably lots of EU people like me panicking that they won't be able to get their event ticket before they go to bed. Is it Steam or ZOS that is skimping on connections through Steam?

I have not been able to even get a ticket or a single dremora skull today, because the game has been down for two maintenances, then had login problems. This is not OK. It also does not help that ZOS did not think through the way that the event worked, even though it was on PTS for some time. On Friday evening I went to visit relatives and returned Sunday night. I could not get Friday's ticket on EU because ZOS set the event up on an individual 20 hour timer. Today that was meant to have changed to event drops resetting with daily quests - as it should have been from the start.

Will we get any extra event days or free tickets to make up for both the loss of an event day and the poor event planning?

ok done it. typed the code in and it seems to work. all the contend seems to be there.

I can't login either. I was having a login failure about 25% of the time before this update but now it is all tries.

If I leave my character Auto running into a wall, will the game ever log me out? I don't want to not be able to get back in lol

Yes, I too managed to log in somewhere about 1.15am, then got a single dremora skull and ticket from a dark anchor. Then went to bed. Currently paying the fuzzy-headed price of not enough sleep. Thanks ZOS.
