PC EU - character login crash

I can login to the character menu without fail, every time. But if I try to login to a character it often fails. It will load, and load, and load, and then crash back to the normal screen where you log in to the megaserver, saying that I should try again later.
I have managed to login three times since 17h00 (GM+2) yesterday, queued for a random normal, and each time DCed while in the loading screen for the dungeon.
However, using a VPN solves the issue totally.
I'm in South Africa.
Anyone else with similar?
