Magplar optimal PVP and PVE Sets? Still good after Patch?

Hey guys. Im currently wearing Alteration Mastery Set, Shacklebreaker Set and Zaan Set 5,5,2 Infernor and Restoration Staff
2x Heavy armor and 5 light armor.
Unbuffed im at about 19k spell resistance, 11k physical resistance and 14,5k health.

I feel very squishy in PVP and PVE. What are optimal pvp and pve sets?
And should i change to 5 heavy armor pieces?

Also is Magicka Templar still good in PVP after Murkmire patch goes live?

I'd trade Zaan for Skoria, as a start. The extra health is nice (and 14.5K is super low), and the proc can hit more reliably. You don't lose much damage overall, since you can hit people who would be out of Zaan range.

If you want a bit more health again, something like Wizard's Riposte (for PvP only) would help, or perhaps Kagrenac's Hope to capitalize on Templar's ability to get quick revives without losing too much damage (and is helpful in both PvE or PvP).

I'm not an expert, though, so I'm hoping others will chime in with good advice. I'm looking to get my Templar(s) off the shelf too. :P

Without any defensive sets, magplars are quite squishy in light armor. Also your health looks a bit problematic. Do you use buffood? Going heavy surely will help you survive. Additionally skoria is a really good choice for magplars, you will get decent damage via the procs and additional health from the 1 piece bonus.
Magplars will be good in murkmire, not the best but still strong.
For your setup you also might consider sword and shield for your backbar instead of the healstaff. This could further strenghten your tankyness due to better blocking (also alteration mastery is quite nice, since it also reduces block costs).
But this all only count for PvP, I strongly recommend other sets for PvE like Julianos or burning spellweave for the start.

    PvP pretty much covered above.

Next patch MagPlar are really strong in PvE, maybe stronger than MagNB. Gear Siroria, BSW, Scathing mage, Julianos, Mothers Sorrow are all safe bets. Zaan or Valkyn again.
