Equilibrium + Morphs

Since the release of Meditate, Equilibrium has no place in ESO.

Equilibrium + Morphs
Equilibirum: Barter with Oblivion to trade vitality for power, sacrificing 6000 Health in exchange for 3000 Magicka. The exchange reduces your healing done and damage shield strength by 50% for 4 seconds.

Spell Symmetry: Barter with Oblivion to trade vitality for power, sacrificing 6000 Health in exchange for 3000 Magicka. After the exchange is complete, the cost of your next Magicka ability is reduced by 25% for 5 seconds. The exchange reduces your healing done and damage shield strength by 50% for 4 seconds.

Balance: Barter with Oblivion to trade vitality for power, sacrificing 6000 Health in exchange for 3000 Magicka. After the exchange is complete, you gain Major Resolve and Major Ward for 20 seconds, increasing your Physical Resistance and Spell Resistance by 5280. The exchange reduces your healing done and damage shield strength by 50% for 4 seconds.

After considering passives,Equilibirum costs you 5,100 Health to get 3,000 Magicka. It also increases the strength of your next light attack by 40%. The self damage dealt by Equilibrium is not effected by Battle Spirit, or any other form of damage mitigation. It also gives you +2% Max Magicka and 2% Magicka Recovery while slotted. This seems great, but is less useful because even if this skill was improved, it would still be a "backbar skill".

Meditate + Morphs
Meditate: Focus your body and mind into a meditative state, healing for 1518 Health and restoring 1518 Magicka and Stamina every 1 second. You will remain in a meditative state until you toggle this ability off or are interrupted.

Deep Thoughts: Focus your body and mind into a meditative state, healing for 1518 Health and restoring 1716 Magicka and Stamina every 1 second. You will remain in a meditative state until you toggle this ability off or are interrupted.

Introspection: Focus your body and mind into a meditative state, healing for 1518 Health and restoring 1716 Magicka and Stamina every 1 second. Maintaining the channel increases the Health restored by 10% every tick, up to a maximum of 50%You will remain in a meditative state until you toggle this ability off or are interrupted.

After considering passives, Meditate gives you Major Protection while channeled, a 5,000 damage shield while blocking while slotted, and each time it is toggled in combat it generates a charge, upon generating your fifth charge it will deal X Magic Damage or Y Phsycial Damage, whichever is higher to the closest enemy to you.

This is not a call to nerf Meditate, but a call to buff Equilibrium.

What use does Equilibrium have when compared to Meditate? Mobility. Meditate requires you to stand still, but offers protection, and no cost in return.

Suggestion 1: Half the cost and increase the return to 4,500. This might seem overpowered, but remember any Wards and Heals you cast are reduced by 50% for 4 seconds after the cast, essentially giving your opponent(s) extra burst potential.

Suggestion 2: Remove the "The exchange reduces your healing done and damage shield strength by 50% for 4 seconds" effect. You essentially pay for the 3,000 Magicka twice. 5,100 health, then 4 seconds of reduced self-defense. Removing the lingering effect would reduce the current massive cost to the ability.

Suggestion 3: Remove the Health cost. I don't think this is the right way to go as it'd break the "lore/description" of the ability. Nonetheless, it'd make the ability less penalizing to cast, and bring it more in line with Meditate.

These suggestions are meant to be individual "fixes" to Equilibrium, and not cumulative changes.

Also worth noting: The skill is outright bugged. Even with the cost reductions, which reduce the cost to 5,100 health, the skill is not usable until you are over 6,000 health.

Beyond a few tanku health builds and to blood port I'm unsure who actually uses this skill.

Or rune, which should give minor force like light weight trap.

Suggestion 1 might work, but suggestion 2 and 3 would result in infinite Magicka regen.

You are forgetting one pretty major downside to casting meditate, and that's basically you have to stop healing/damage/tanking for x seconds to actually use it. From a healer perspective, having a few seconds where you can't heal can easily mean the difference between a successful completion and a wipe. For example if the tank blocks a oneshot from a boss and is down to 10% health, they will likely die if you are busy channeling when that happens. If you aren't channeling, you can use your emergency heal to keep them up while your hots recharge their health. You can make a similar example for the tanks and meditating would result in an overall dps loss for a dps compared to sustain management.

I've actually used Balance for quite a long time on my NB healer. It's really good for clearing trash mobs. As your group approaches the enemy, the tank pulls them, and you drop a refreshing path (RIP) and then bomb them with sap essense. I can use the active hots to recharge with balance and by the time I'm at the next group I have full health, full magicka, and the debuff is gone.

In a fight, a dps could use spell symetry to gain back magicka and then have the next cast at a reduced price. With my standard NB hots up, if they don't have much external damage, a dps could cast SS, a spell, SS, another spell, SS, another spell... until they have full magicka and health all while being able to respond to anything happening in the fight.

I'm not sure it really needs more love is all I'm saying.

You are joking right? A lot of tanks doing endgame PvE are using Equilibrium. You get infinite magicka while holding block with almost no cost. 5k damage is nothing and will get outhealed in a second with all the Hots. If a tank dies because of it, poke your healer - he fell asleep. Meditate makes you drop block so its less than ideal in most bossfights. I've done a lot of vet trials with many different groups and 90% of the tanks were using Equilibrium. Not a single one was using meditate.

Considered it's one of the major "schools" in PvE tanking? Lots of people. That also the reason why the debuff to self healing and shielding was added to the skill in the first place.

    Balanced is well. Balanced.

I would rather have balance on my bar in such fights like Fang Lair instead of meditating myself into poison.

i think equilibrum is fine as it is Right now.
People mostly use it on Magicka Support Builds in PvP and Mag NB PvP Raid Bomb Builds to Sustain there Rotation, i think you would make Sustain to easy if you buff it.. in PvE it is just used by tanks: 6k hp is not a high cost for a PvE tank..especially if you know the mechanics of the dungeon/Trial you are doing and know when you dont take a lot of Damage& when you actually have high Incoming Damage.
Mediate is more of a pvp smallscale skill in open world pvp as it is useless for PvE/PvP Raids as it doesnt give enough resources back per sec …, but doesnt have 4 second debuff.
