Hello!
I'm a bit clueless and was wondering how good (or bad) my build actually is.
Currently using it for PvP and PvE, and I don't think its awful - just really squishy.

Heres the stats:
Argonian MagSorc, CP 659.
Max Magica = 26647 (recovery = 1016), Max Heath 17923 (recovery = 548), Max Stamina = 10012 (recvery =525).
Spell Damage = 2476 (Critical = 35.7%), Spell Resistance = 17241, Critical Resistance = 1017, weapon damage = 1154 (critical = 10%), Physical Resistance = 12734.

Front bar: crystal blast, force pulse, lightening flood, blockade of storms, power surge, thunderous rage.
Back bar: Healing springs, mutagen, ward ally, boundless storm, charging manoeuvre, reviving barrier.

3 Necropotence/5 Rattlecage/4 Vicious Death. Restro and destro staves used.

Thanks for reading :D

The magicka seems kinda low for PVE. And isnt Power Surge duplicating Major Sorcery from Rattlecage?

5 Rattlecage and Power Surge don't stack.

Try 4 Rattlecage, 5 Julianos, and 3 Willpower and see if that doesn't work a little better.

@VaranisArano, I wasn't entirely sure how it worked. Because it gives major brutality and the chance for critical strikes to heal I kept it.

Since you asked I'll be completely honest. It's trash. For starters, PvE and PvP builds are too different for the same build to be effective in both. Secondly, your gear setup is basically just giving you stats and your stats are bad. I'm actually curious if your max magicka number is a typo because it's so low. Your only 5 piece bonus is giving you the same buff as one of the skills you're using, which do not stack. Some of your skill choices seem really random, that combined with the fact that you're not focusing on either PvE or PvP makes it really hard to give you any advice.

@Danksta lmao sadly its not a typo. I don't know what I should be doing (obviously). Whats the difference between PvP and PvE sets?

Your goal with this, and most other builds should be a 5/5/2 setup for gear.
5 body, jewelry and weaps, and a 2 piece monster setup.

I don't see you running pets so lose Necro all together.

Vicious Death is a PVP only set and you need the 5th piece to make it worth it in a bomber build, otherwise swap it out.

Rattlecage on the body is great for PVP as it's heavy armor and you need that resistance in PVP, but it should be weap's and jewelry in PVE so you can run light armor to max the magicka potential.

Other sets I would consider on a magsorc would be Spinner's (light armor)
Juliano's (whatever you need for weight)

For monster sets Illambris and Valkyn Skoria are always good. Grothdarr is also good if you end up getting in close with your targets.

Always look at your passives for the armor lines as these will give you different boosts which determine if they work better for PVP/PVE. (Generally heavy in PVP and light in PVE)

If you have Undaunted maxed you ideally want to run 5 of one weight and 1 piece of the other 2.

the thing is you can't be using same gear and skill bars for both pvp and pve. you'll just be average at most in both aspects.

Honest opinion on the build: I could be drunk af and slap 3 random sets from my bank onto my magsorc and still come up with better stats.

-Ditch the rattlecage. try a max magicka set.
-Too many healing skills in the backbar. No idea what you are trying to do in pve in regards to your role, but it's just a mess in the back bar.
-Ditch healing springs and slot your shield. can't survive pvp without that. Between the sorc shield, either mutagen or resto ward is enough as a heal.
-Try a 5,5,2 build if you got monster sets. would always suggest 5,5,2 path for people who are just getting to know how things work.
-and for the love of god wear some gear with impenetrable trait for pvp. most people would kill you with 1 or 2 crit hits as of now.

Above all, if you have money, invest in 2 different gear configurations, 1 for pvp and 1 for pve. Also have different skill bar configs for these different aspects of the game. If you are on pc, try using "dressing room" addon to easily save different gear and skill combos and switch between them with a click.

For PVE, I would drop rattlecage and keep Power Surge. You can run full light armor and you'll get more benefit from the passives. You wont actually benefit from the Major Brutality since you aren't using weapons. Your staves will benefit from the spell damage.

The suggestion GimpyPorcupine gave for gear is good. I use 5 Necropotence (I run a pet)/5 Mothers Sorrow or 5 Julianos + a monster helm set for my PVE sorc. Divine traits, maybe a few infused.

Now, you should build for more magicka. Most of your magicka costing skills will do more damage the more magicka you have. Somewhere between 30-40k magicka is where you want to be.

Your front bar looks okay for PVE, but I would check some builds online for rotations. For PVE DPS, you'll probably be looking at a double destro staff build.

Now for PVP, you want your gear traits to by impenetrable for crit resistance, maybe a few infused on the big pieces for extra stats. If you dont have some crit resistance, you'll be really, really squishy. For PVP, you really need to look up some sorc builds. I very rarely play my sorc in PVP, so I cant really tell you how to play, but I can tell you that I would walk right out of your blockade and lightning flood. Now, the destro/resto works really well in PVP, especially if you play as a group support healer/DPS, and that's more or less how I play my MagDK healer.

If you are going to run Vicious Death, you have to be able to kill people. Otherwise its a wasted set. If you aren't killing people enough to justify it, I'd suggest Spinners for more damage, Shacklebreaker or Shroud of the Lich for more sustain, or Robes of Transmutation if you want to focus on healing.

What food do you use? What enchants do you have on your armor? What quality (color) is your armor? Those are the places I'd start looking to boost your magicka.

It's not just the sets that would ideally be different, but your armor/weapon traits, your skills, cp setup... you'd want higher recovery and max stamina for PvP than PvE.

    Thank you all so much!

I use a magica+health food and spell pot that increases damage and gives a fair amount of magicka.
The gear is all gold except jewellery which is purple, 4 reinforced, 1 invigorating, 1 infused, 1 divines, 2 arcane, 1 protective. They have a pretty even split of health, magicka and spell damage enchants.

So for PVE, you want 7 Divines on your armor, or possibly 3 infused (chest, legs, head) and 4 Divines. That way you get the most benefit from your Mundus Stone. Infused is for if you need more magicka. For PVE, Witchmother's Potent Brew is an outstanding magicka drink, with max health, max magicka, and magicka recovery.

For PVP you want 7 impen or possibly 4 impen/3 infused (chest, legs, head). The Impen makes you more resistant to critical attacks from other players. For PVP, use a tristat food that gives max health, magicka, and stamina because you will have to break free of CCs and roll dodge to avoid attacks and run away, so you use your stamina pool more often.

Edited to add: when I need more physical/spell resistances in PVP, I grab my monster sets and mix/match something like pirate skeleton and chudan. If you really want to invest in that, Fortified Brass crafted in light armor, or Pariah in jewelry/weapons might be useful. But that's more tanky and in PVP its generally more effectice to kill your enemy quicker.

    Dont split your sets up run 5 5 2. Or 5 3 2 2
I thought u were a pet when i saw necro then saw 3 pieces.

For pve. U can slot the twilight for more than enough heals. And u dont need to run a healing staff on rhe back bar.

I run my set up in pvp and pve. Im not hard core pvp but i can easily run vet 4 man dungeons.

Any ways i run 5322. 5 necro 3 ancient grace 2 will power and depending on what im doing a full monster set.

    Im at 52k max magica.

For hard core pvp i would really run impen and fortified brass or something else.

I'm not a sorc expert, so I can't really talk about the specifics of a sorc build, but looking at your general stats, you must be living in a sustain nightmare. You only have 1k regen and no elemental drain, siphon spirit, seducer armor, or really any other type of magicka regen from abilities.
