Just some random ideas. Feedback is always appreciated! 
When a player renames a house, the custom name appears instead of the default plot title such as "hunters glade" during loading screens when you or another player enters the renamed home, with the default title possibly still appearing quotations/smaller font after or below the custom one. Maybe the ability to add your own flavor text even beneath the house title.
Banner furnishing of varying sizes that displays a guilds tabard emblem/colors.
An opened Portal furnishing that can be placed around and acts as a wayshrine for fast-traveling.
Doors. the orc counter-weight furnishing item could act as a door if there was no collision/invisible walls when the weight is up. normal doors would be really neat too though.
Weaponry/Armor furnishing, even just some of the more classic sets would add a lot
Bards that can be placed in your house, though it would nice as well if you were allowed to check/uncheck the songs said bard might play from their repertoire
Some NPCs to do NPC things, Maybe just a random guy that has a few jokes or a weak npc who will 'spar'/attack until low health when prompted via dialogue
an intractable bowl of blood or even an NPC / etc. that can be used to sate a vampires blood thirst/decrease your stage of vampirism
