Combat Prayer: Yes, yes and yes. Leave skill as is.

Blessing of Restoration: No, No, and No. I think this skill should provide another minor buff like minor protection. Or Endurance/ Intellect.

Combat Prayer is very good I like how much it buffs solo/small scale group play.

I've never been able to slot them on the builds I want to slot them on in PvP because the heal is so small. Blessing is close to being good enough to slot but I really wish it had the same Tooltip as honor the dead.

That would be far too OP, it's a straight up aoe heal.

I've honestly only have ever used combat prayer. If it didn't have the minor berserk, I wouldn't even use it. There are more cost-effective ways of healing and in the scheme of things minor resists buff aren't that big of a deal because most people are going to die a terrible death or stay perfectly fine regardless of the couple of percent damage difference they entail. Because of that it's not worth using blessing of restoration.

I agree, The only 2 AOE heals in the game with tool tips close to honor are hasty prayer and budding seeds. And they both come with huge caveats, the former is 7.3k magic and the later is a double cast. There are enough pug healers that use the wrong morph of combat prayer, in my opinion. In trials Combat Prayer is a requirement, but OP knows that already. I have never seen a use for the other skill for serious healing.

Though I have used prayer just to heal directionally in 4 man dungeons, someone using it in that manner and is not concerned about the dps buff would benefit from the other morph since it does cover a larger area.

Combat Prayer I feel is a real go to. PvE & PvP. Fits in rotation well etc.

Protection ive never used however resistances may play a bigger part now for ward users but I'm unsure that's enough to male me switch

Blessing of Protection is the better morph for the solo pvper, but you have to build for it.

I use an Asylum Resto + Major Mending on my MagDK and i get a larger heal via BOR then I do from Coagulating Blood at 20% health + Major Mending. Blessing of Restoration also gives you easy 100% uptime on both Major and Minor Resolve and Ward which is pretty good for a Light Armor character.

Combat Prayer can be better in most cases because you don't really need to build your character around it to get the benefits. My MagDK foir example has so much damage, that I simply do not need the Minor Beserk Buff (I hit 12-16k leaps on the reg) I simply don't need that 8% buff, but with the amount of Bleeds and Defiles, I most certainly need a larger burst heal, and added resistances that last for quite awhile. the larger cone also makes it easier to toss my teamates a heal sometimes when they are in trouble, and that heal ends up being large enough to take someone out of execute range in a single cast, Combat Prayer always takes 2 casts to do that.

that being said, Blessing of Restoration still needs a slight buff, something like minor protection would be perfect for the skill.

Combat Prayer? Yes. It's in my healers rotation. In the era of DPS or bust, the extra damage is useful. In most cases, between mutagen and combat prayer, this is all the heals I need to throw up until a BOL is needed.


Edit: Blessing of Restoration...I've never used this morph, honestly. From reading some of the other comments, it sounds more like a niche build use and might have some usefulness if given the chance.

Combat prayer ? awesome in disciplined trial groups and worthless in the rest of the game, especially in Random group finder groups. And now more than ever the skill needs a rework since the newest dlc dungeons start introducing alot of mechanics that require group members to be all over the place which renders close group skills like this as well as sets that have great potential (imperium, lord warden) utterly useless.

increase the radius of combat prayer/blessing of protection or change it large cone area like the warden/templar burst heals and we'll talk...

bottomline an absolute classless reference burst healing skill like this needs to be useful and applicable in all scenarios, period.

Ive found C Prayer actually has a pretty effective range used right it's a handy snipe heal to turn to that one player. However I'm talking distance over width.

Oww I was just contemplating on the 1-shot problem and realized this is a great opportunity.

Give blessing of protection morph an extra unique functionality to save people from 1-shot mistakes so smart healers can save them:

"makes the affected target immune to all dmge for 3 seconds" - CD 1 second

so you when you're at the 2 ogres fight in vet mode and see that newb that is not standing behind the pillars or not running into a circle, cast this ward on them right before the BOOM comes in and show off your expert healing skills

Exactly, it's a dead morph and they only way for me to not keep it dead is if it had a honor the dead type tooltip. Go ahead and make it on caster only. No one uses it as an AoE heal (or at all) anyway.

It's too weak to be useful

The point of my post is to basically make combat prayer the base morph and then have one morph do more healing, like you are asking for and the other morph make the AOE larger. This would remove a dead morph and give an actual choice that is interesting.

Exactly this. Minor Berserk is the only reason this skill even has a slot on anyone's* bar at all.

Pulsar is a destro staff ability. Not saying you definitely meant a different skill, but it's a little confusing to see you talk about Resto line and name a destro ability.

The Destruction Staff ability Pulsar is a circular aoe skill, centered on the caster, and has an animation that I like. I wish there were a Restoration Staff ability with a similar animation, but that functioned basically exactly like a magicka version of the Assault skill Vigor. Vigor is a better heal than pretty much everything in the Restoration Staff line, which seems amiss to me.

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say better than everything. it is a good skill to be sure, but the heal is relatively weak for endgame content and since it only lasts 5 seconds you have to baby it to get a good uptime. I'd say it is probably 3rd behind healing springs & combat prayer. 4th if you count all non-class healing skills (again behind orbs). Though, vigor is better than orbs if no one procs the orbs synergy.

Regeneration (mutagen/rapid regen) has the same animation, you lift your staff up.
