I went to see the doctor and said I keep having this recurring dream where I go to bed at midnight and wake up at 7am, I look at the ESO forums and it says at the top "For your convenience maintenance was completed during the night, whilst you were asleep". What does it mean doc? Am I dying?
And the doctor said "ESO doing maintenance overnight, when the majority of players won't be inconvenienced? Well, you're clearly insane so I'm going to have to section you and lock you up for the rest of your life in an asylum!"
So I'm now in a safe place where I can dribble and rave about things like customer focus and player retention and NOT driving all the people who pay you crap-tons of money every month TOTALLY INSANE EVERY DAMN WEEK.
There, better now, can I have my meds again please nurse...

Ah.. you want THEM to work after hours so you are not inconvenienced..

It's always daytime somewhere traveller, for someone.

There is no perfect maintenance time - not to mention that even server sweepers need lives and sleep themselves no?

Pick up a tome, wash some dishes, rearrange the things on your desk.

Time will pass soon enough and then everyone can start getting upset about lacquer again instead of maintenance.

Hard mode is when I'm physically nerfed by streightjacket, and mentaly nerfed with lithium and anti-psychotics.

No healer and no tank to break down the walls. Zerged by mad doctors - this could take a while.

My point is they can have a team who, once a week, come in overnight and do the maintenance, particularly stagger the NA and EU times. The start time for NA is in the middle of the night, not sure why it can't be for EU.

Perhaps because its a EU based company and its more convenient & minimises the risk with deployment issues as more support staff available?

EU maintenance times are usually while I'm at work so it doesn't bother me really, but yes, companies should try as much as possible not to inconvenience their paying customers. If that means staggering their EU and NA times, then that is what they should do.

That way they would always have half their servers up and running too.

Nighttime is a variable... unless the earth is flat, then it's daytime all time. I guarantee that for someone, maintenance is over by the time they wake up, its just not you.

Last night I dreamt I went to Manderly Hunter's Glade again, and I saw that there were furnishings slightly askew, or not flush with surfaces, and clipping issues everywhere...
