The biggest pain is trying to buy stuff. I haven't bought from any guild trader that isn't right outside my mournhold room, in well over 2 months, because of the absolute hassle of it all.

I think the whole required weekly limit thinking is flawed by the guild masters. The idea is that buyers will seek them up even in a bad spot, because sellers every week have to fill up the trader with good stuff that sells.

With the site tameriel trade center this becomes less useful, to build a "brand".

The guilds should be moving towards membership fees instead, per month. Members still have to sell to cover the fee. Much better for both the seller and guild masters, easier to maintain.

Billy discovers there is a reason why the minimum is only 5k, because trying to make a sale in that spot is like trying to extract blood from a stone.

Then Billy should stop trying to sell his stuff at premium prices at Trader Bob's Discount Bonanza. Half the fun of the trader system is figuring out the right price to sell your goods at. Unlike AHs where you just take the lowest price and list your stuff for one gold less and then pray someone buys it before someone else does the same thing to you.

Trading guilds are open to all players, if you cannot make the sales required for minimal effort, then tough, if you do not want to participate in guilds, then that is ok, but the trading system does not merely work for high level farmers, naturally such a system does benefit them, but it does benefit casual sellers too, I myself only log on to do crafting writs on 14 characters per day and make a ton of sales too on top of that merely by selling excess gold mats etc etc.

The polls that periodically crop op on the forums are just a waste of space, it is not in any way indicative of the general feeling of the playerbase as most do not come here, much less care to post.

IMO, the ones who moan about the trader system make bad decisions on poor trading guilds, or have nothing of value to charge, some things are good money makers, like tri stat pots, gold mats, and other items, which have a healthy value over a long period of time.

I can only agree with what @Reverb says as well.

I sell over 4mil a week in goods and I still believe this system is highly flawed. Every week guild leaders have to struggle between raffles, auctions, and raising funds for the ever increasing cost of a decent trader. Not to mention it takes hours to go to every trader to find what your looking for. I realize TTC keeps track of some items; however, it does not keep track of all items and it is almost never up to date. For example you see an item selling for x amount you go to that trader and its gone. You look hours later and it still shows the item for sale. A simple fix a central auction house that only list items from traders and allows you to buy them from the trader or the central auction house.
