Sacrament sewer tenement. Most annoying frustrating quest ever.

So whoever designed this quest just went out of their way to cause nothing but annoyance to the player, not fun at all. I spent ages wandering around in that bloody sewer looking for my target named Lamzakha. And for the life of me could not find, started to get annoyed and frustrated, began to grow restless, thought the quest must be bugged, after all i had checked everywhere (so i thought) as a result I started to make silly mistake, getting caught, racked up a huge bounty, completely destroyed any immersion I built up as a sneaky assassin.

Ended up having to check online, looking at youtube videos. I won't say where the target is because of spoilers. But basically the way to the target is covered over and pretty much impossible for me to see, at least on my monitor.

So yeah just wanted to say a big fat swear word to the person who designed that map.

Now have a bounty of 5000 gold and ruined immersion gg

It does get on your nerves the first time but youll get over it.

In terms of immersion your character is bound to fail some mission to learn and improve. He will be fine

Yeah, I know exactly which one you're talking about and even after googling it, it still took ages for me to find that little hidden entrance... It's definitely a troll quest. I lost my temper and ended up killing every last NPC down there

Its not supposed to be easy. It would be far more immersion breaking if someone marked for assassination just ran up to you and yelled "Kill Me!" Someone who's marked for death probably knows they've pissed someone off, so they're going to hide as best they can.

It takes time to be a good, senaky assassin. Your character might be new to the role. Even if they aren’t, crazy things can happen! Make it part of your story. Running around with a bounty can be a fun challenge. It’s how some of our characters ought to be treated all time time, if realism was a bit more of a thing in this game. I have a multi million bounty character who akways has to keep her head on a swivel in civilized areas. It’s fun. And if someone sees her on sacraments, she just laughs and slaughters everyone. She’s a bad cat like that. ;)

Not sure how "I got impatient, made mistakes, and got seen" equals "immersion ruined!"

I mean, if a 'real' assassin got impatient, made mistakes, and got seen.... that would make total sense, right? So how is that "not immersive"?

(another tick in the " immersion complaints are just people complaining about whatever they don't like today" column)

..also, 5000 bounty is "a lot"? *snerk* :D

I know which one you're talking about, and frankly you would've saved yourself a lot of trouble by opening your map and looking for areas you hadn't gone to yet. I know about that hidden room and it's on the map.

It's a lot for people who actually care about not getting bounties. I never let myself get more than 2k at one time.

I know which one you're talking about, too. It's so awful the first time you do it. Gets easier after that, though.

Is this the one that requires you to jump in a hidden hole in the wall to find?

I actually felt that was pretty creative on the part of the developers. It made the sacrament much more interesting IMO since I actually had to look carefully for them; real shame there wasn't more like that. I'd love for them to create a monthly, or even a weekly, cycle of Heists and Sacraments with different locations and marks for you with more tricky locations like this one to keep them engaging.

    Get to it ZOS.

Another one similarly awful is the Summerset daily where you have to loot the dead pilgrims or some such thing.

What really gets me is the area markers that basically cover the whole map. Seriously?

The targets for those are always in predictable locations, especially the more times you do the missions. The size of the circle is the biggest clue for me, for example.

If you hate sacraments though, the heists are worse. The timer for those starts immediately so you are forced to rush through and the lockpicking often takes you out of hide(whether they patch it or not) and you cannot assassinate anyone to get around and avoid bounty as the bounty is automatically granted every time even if perfectly unnoticed.

These are my tips for the Black Sacrament:
    1) go slow
    2) figure out the guard patterns as they are the only ones that can't be assassinated
    3) get the secondary target before the primary
    4) the poison counts while using the blade of woe assassination so no need to alert anybody with normal combat
    5) npcs periodically move and right before they do they shift from their special idle to a generic idle, essentially they fidget, which is a warning that they're likely to turn and move and will spot you
    6) biggest tip, only do it on a nightblade with cloak; it was made for them

Also, it seems the guards don't give bounty when they spot you, or at least sometimes they don't, so you could take them out if you want, but this will count against the "avoid being spotted" counter.

Those help me because they tell me where the target is more often than not. The sewer tenement happens to be the easiest since the single dead-end room near the edge of the circle is almost always where the target is.

The problem with those large circles is that you're not used to that in ESO. Most quests can be done by just following the marker with zero reasoning required. It almost feels like a bug when a quest actually takes a bit of effort. Not because it's hard but because it breaks the mold.

Yeah, but you get used to expecting the unexpected the more games you play over the years.
It's just an experience thing. Follow my tips above until you get there.

I actually, on my nightblade, can burn through a Black Sacrament pretty fast now and super easy because I've done them so much, because I like stealth gameplay. I almost every time do the "Flawless Sacrament" achievement requirements.

I may like stealth gameplay but still hate heists because they're not designed to support proper stealth gameplay.

If you run out of time/get caught too many times the overseer will arrive regardless of whether or not you've completed your objective(s).
