I think this needs a bit of a tweak now that magblades have taken pretty hard hits to every single one of their healing/defence skills.

I would like to see it become placable remotely so you don't actually need to run over to a safe spot every 30 seconds in order to keep a back door open to try to escape through.

This is not to say that it should become some instant "streak"-like escape in any direction, I believe it should be a given a short CD between placement and activation so that it still requires advance-planning to use properly but at least this way it could be easily re-positioned without completely removing yourself from a fight in order to do so. It's more of a quality of life change than anything.

Without something like this I think we're going to see every single magblade in heavy armor next patch to try to attempt to make up for lost healing & defences which just further contributes towards the homogenisation of classes.

Edit: a very good point made by another poster below. It must also not be possible to place the shade on ledges and walls above you to prevent bypassing keep walls. You could make it a small ground-targeted AoE that requires full-LOS to place, that would address that issue.

    No, thanks. Shadow imagine is amazing also because it requires a bit of brain cells to use, just like the whole nb class once did. Let's not water down also this skill please.

    Could you please explain how this is "watering down" or reducing the skill required to use Shadow Image?

    Having to completely remove yourself from a fight every 30 seconds just to re-place Shade isn't skill, it's just annoying admin.

    I think that would make this the new and very much broken streak (eso 2015) and we dont need that, the skill is already quite good.

    if one could spam in from distance and then port, it would be very broken. Easy teleportation inside keeps, on unreachable spots etc.

    Reading the whole post is generally a good idea before commenting.

    I literally stated that it should NOT be like streak and require a decent CD between placement and activation so it cannot be placed and teleported too in a pinch. It must require forward-planning but right now also requires you to physically run away and find somewhere to place it every 30 seconds which is extremely disruptive and often impractical.

    I like shade they way it is. I am so happy they removed the requirement of a target.

    Also i won't revert to HA. I did it a while back and yes, my survivability went sky high without giving up damage and sustain. Except penetration and critic % went down but then i replaced jewels and weapon to spinner.

    But.. i like cloth and without shields, yes it's hard. But still fun and unique in most fights.

    I don't want to place shade's remotely. I can already see it happen. People placing shades on walls to teleport into keeps and other exploits. No, what we have now is fine enough for me. Just let us be weaker for a while so we can safely sit out the next nerf wave after the Murkmire update.

    I stated that it shouldn't be spammable and requires CD between placement and activation but teleporting inside keeps is a valid point. Perhaps another restriction would need to be that it cannot be placed on ledges above you, you must have clear LOS to the destination to place it.

    It's an interesting idea. Maybe it could be done with the second less used morph? But I don't know we're that second morph is used now, maybe it has some uses. Nevertheless I like the idea, but only if we would have a choice between the two.
    I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

    I main a magblade in pvp and god i never hated anything else like i hate shadow image. Light armor NB is squishy af and i wouldn't really mind if we were given more survivability, but not via shade. Stamblades already becoming annoying af tower monkeys using shadow image and %9999 increased movement speed. And they have a sh!tton of damage in heavy armor, so you can't even just walk away once you engage one. It's also the reason too many ignorant people coming here asking for cloak nerfs because they think it's cloak.

    If anything, it could be worked around to grant some sustain buff which makes it worth using -major protection, mb?- but also to become killable to avoid tower monkeys abusing it.

    Yep, shade is best for a stamblade and a hugely annoying and gimmicky skill. People think it somehow is an indication of their "skill" whatever that is. It caters to all the nb heroes who fancy themselves amazing 1 v X players in a group combat game.
