Do heals proc weapon enchantments?

I've never healed in ESO, but that's what i'm planning to do next. I'm asking because common sense indicates that heals should proc enchantments, but common sense apparently doesn't apply to ESO in a lot of cases. I'm referring to enchantments like the weapon/spell dmg one, restore magicka, etc.

    1.) A weapon damage enchantment causes damage;
    2.) Dealing damage to an enemy via a light attack, heavy attack, or weapon ability triggers a 20% chance for the weapon damage enchantment to proc (thus dealing additional damage);
    3.) Casting a heal on a friendly target causes no damage, thus the weapon damage enchantment will not proc.

    It would be illogical if casting a heal on a friendly target simultaneously damaged them, so the game is coded to avoid that.

    I was referring to the weapon enchantments that do no dmg. What is actually illogical is forcing a healer to do dmg to proc enchantments, but i guess that's the way eso rolls. So essentially weapon enchantments go to waste on a healer unless you slot a dmg ability and do light/heavy attacks, but normally you're targetting an ally.

    Glyph of Weapon Damage: Increase your Weapon and Spell Damage for 5 seconds

    Glyph of Hardening: Grants a Damage Shield for 5 seconds

    Glyph of Absorb Magicka: Deals Magic Damage and restores Magicka

    I think those glyphs should proc on heals, and when it comes to the magicka one only the magicka portion should work. If it doesn't work that way, so be it. I was just curious.

    Absorb magica is actually dealing damage, so no.

    Going back to 'how' weapon enchantments proc -- heavy/light attacks and weapon skills -
    Keeping that in mind, healing a friendly isn't done via a heavy attack or light attack (with one exception*), so no procing a weapon enchantment that way.
    I doubt if restoration staff skills are considered (coded) as weapon skills, and if that is the case, then there would be nothing in the restoration staff skill tree to proc a weapon enchantment with.

    * the psijic skill line - Mend Wounds:
    "Invoke the Rites of Moawita, replacing your next Light or Heavy Attack used within 3 seconds with healing abilities that can be used on allies."

    I don't know if healing a friendly via Mend Wounds would trigger either the damage shield or inceased damage weapon enchantment since, technically speaking, you are healing a friendly via a light/heavy attack.

    This is incorrect, weapon enchants have a 100% chance to proc. You're thinking of poisons, which have a 20% chance to proc.

    Heals you use will not proc your weapon enchantments. Non weapon abilities will not proc the enchantment. So if you have 2x resto only your light/heavy attacks will proc the enchantments. TBH depending on the build you want to make, you might weave in some LA to just get a small boost from the enchantments, but you generally won't LA for the extra damage. You shouldn't have much pen (once again this varies based on build) since heals aren't affected by PEN at all it is mostly a waste to invest in it.

    You will, however, heavy attack with a healer. It returns a ton of magicka, heals you and a person nearby, and gives you major mending. Since it takes 3 seconds to channel a heavy, you can heavy, cast a heal, and then heavy again to recieve the proc off of the global cooldown. (A heavy attack channel for the resto is actually 2x LA with a HA on the third second). You could have a weapon damage enchantment that increases healing for the next few seconds more on top of the major mending or a magicka enchantment that saps a little more magicka on HA. Those are usually the ways that healers use glyphs.

    Healers need to know how to light attack weave as much as DDs to be GOOD good.

    Enchants don't proc without doing damage, but LA weaving works fine. It's not as good as using a damaging weapon ground AoE but it works fine enough for a healer. Healing in ESO is not really healing, it's also buffing, debuffing, and yes, doing damage.

    The DPS should be standing in front of you most of the time, so really you are also targeting the boss. If DPS are running around for no good reason (not to do a mechanic) then you don't need to chase them. They need to learn to not leave heals unless it's necessary.
