Get rank 1 campaign reward in Vivec, preferably on several chars. It doesnt take long (25k ap iirc), and you will get a 50 crystal geode at the end of campaign + a few 4-20 crystal geodes from rewards for the worthy.

Don't farm your transmute crystals after you get the thing you want. Farm them in advance and stash them until you need them. Do your tier 1 Vivec rewards this month and next month and the month after on as many toons as you have available. Yes, it sucks that you can't have the trait you want right now, but if you plan ahead, you can have what you want when you want it for future drops.

Rank 1 is quite easy to get in any campaign, i just ran around a bit in Cyrodiil with a character i'm leveling last weekend and i ended up rank 3 by the time the campaign (7 day) reset.

I really wish the geode containers (or the transmute crystals) were tradable... I am constantly deleting the gold geode containers from my characters to get inventory space. Sometimes I just re-trait stuff I don't even use just to feel like I am getting some use from them!

15-20 from an uncracked geode in the rewards of the worthy seem to be more frequent to me recently

Once you get your traits all BiS, you'll start to hate the entire system when your inventory is half geos. They can't be stored in a bank or traded to other characters. They shouldn't even have a weight in your inventory imo, it's a really bad design choice by ZOS but what can we really expect from them now in days?

Can you still transmute a random weapon to nirnhoned and deconstruct for a free potent stone? Not done that for a while

Some means are more effective than others.

While gaining the XP for the tier campaign rewards in PvP save your rewards of the worthy on an alt character. Open one a day and get an uncracked gold crystal.

Alcast lists the different activities that grant them. Link listed below. It is best to keep a regular activity to get crystals rather than wait until you get something you want to change the trait on.

These two items below take the same amount of time:

(a) Thinking about your idea, starting this forums thread, choosing the thread options, and injecting some sarcasm.

(b) Logging into your character’s Cyrodiil 30-day campaign and leveling up to tier 1 rewards ... for a 50-stone end of campaign geode reward.

Simple solution when that happens. Transmute a weapon to nirn trait, decon the weapon and get a nirn trait stone.

end of campaign could potentially be what, 30 days if I had bad timing?

That doesn't solve my problem of needing them now, basically what im thinking is they need to just allow people to farm more of them from bgs, only getting a couple from ur bg daily for it to make you wait 20 hours is dumb

Just wait until your inventory is literally 60/80 slots filled with unstackable, untradable, unbankable small geodes.
