What happened to the 100k gold we were supposed to get?

Please don't tell me that ZOS is outright lying to us ESO+ about the last day of September. :/

Isn't it October now in the UTC time zone (the time zone that the login rewards are tied to)?

It's not even showing up anymore. I suspect, that maybe ZOS didn't expect us to finish the summerfall event.

The time is UTC, where its now October.

    1. The rewards you cant get have a greyed out lock symbol.

    2. If you are in an NA timezone like me (I'm in Central) September's rewards started August 31 and ran through Sept 29th. This October will likewose run from Sept 30th through Oct 30th.

September rewards had ended 55 minutes before you posted this, according to the time zone they're using to dole out the daily rewards. You just missed it, I'm afraid.

So I logged in every durned day in Sept. Because I wasn't here @ 5pm PST sharp to claim my reward, it reset into October an hour or two after my 5pm PST time to claim the 100k, so thanks ZOS for giving us that narrow window in which to claim the 100k. Shady, real shady.

Yepp, today was rollover to October at midnight UTC, which technically was already yesterday in UTC (as of this writing) but for me today is still today until midnight, even if it is already tomorrow in UTC.

I do find it strange that they use UTC for the login rewards. It works for me because I'm in the UK and UTC is just another name for GMT, so it resets at either midnight or 1am my time. But it seems weird for an American company to do that, especially when other events usually use EST.

Ideally I think they should pick one time zone and use that for everything. And where possible have things reset at the same time - so the login reward moves to the next day at the same time as other daily things reset - like when new daily quests and crafting writs become available. It would make it easier to remember when things reset.

There are quite a few events they run that they start based off of utc. They try to announce it well in advance, but perhaps people don't always notice it. It's always a good idea to check these things on the forums early on, if there's a question.

I got the 100K gold, but I live in EST (same time zone as ZOS main office is located in). The reset time for me is 8 PM, so I have 12 hours a day to claim the rewards,

They really should switch to client calendar day.

Switch it to midnight local time and tag the last 'claim' with a timestamp, so no one's hopping timezones trying to gain a day.

(Yes, that's lame. Yes, there would someone that would attempt it.)

September only had 28/30 days with a 2 day grace period. Add in the GMT nonsense and it didn't leave much room for error.

You only had to login 28 days out of 30. I got my gold two days ago.

You have to be aware of the rest time. For me it is 8pm. So, if I logged in yesterday at 7 pm and today at 9pm I have missed a day.

My reset time is 8 PM. It has happen before, I logged at 7 PM to claim a reward and I waited to 8:01 PM to claim the next day reward. One can use the reset time to one's advantage.

I got mine. You know, you have to have logged in for all of those consecutive days to get you right. Its easily tracked as part of your daily rewards.

    Got mine days ago.

I converted the 8 PM U.S. EST reset time to my timezone (morning for me) and made sure to log in once during each day. Easy.

No the window is 24 hours long for everyone. Because the change-over is during a normal PST evening, you get the chance to grab two days' rewards, and so only need to log in (twice) every other day.

@ghastley you don't even have to relog, actually. The next reward will happily announce itself at one minute after, right in front of the Trial Boss or other preferred-uninterruptible scenarios.

@Obsidian3 the issues isn't the time frame. The issue is the start/stop time, as adjusted for GMT.

Again, it would be a simple fix to go by local client time zone (as verified by the server, to prevent exploits)

OP seems confused on several levels.

There was no "last day of September 100k reward". The 100k was the final login reward for September. It required logging into the game 28 days in September. Most of us got it on the 28th or 29th.

Summerfall was a completely separate thing, to encourage and reward exploring the Summerset map. It was a success, and expac owners will get a pet, a mount and a house on Oct 10th

They are completely unrelated things, and neither of them has anything to do with ESO+

UTC is not a time zone ... It's the standard by which time is measured

UTC is kept in time via the several atomic clocks and a mathematical equation based on the earth's rotation

0 hour has to be set somewhere

This means that we can change our times in our time zones such as BST v GMT or or even as we did during the war change it by two hours to help make it harder for German bombers

Because of this many IT departments will set their servers to use UTC instead of localised time so they never have to adjust the time on the server to reflect current time instead utilise the standard by which time is set

I got the gold. Then bought a bunch of animus stones and made another hundred grand selling those target humanoids to impulse buyers at a 40% markup of crafting cost. Good times. Two thumbs up. That part of the game is still fun for me.
