More hybrid support would be nice

I know there's a hybrid builds out there that can do some work in pvp or are tanks for pve, but they seem really gimmicky. I think it would be nice if like pels aptitude was a monster helm effect like 1 piece adds crit to both weapon and spell or recovery to both stats or like domihaus max mag max stam and 2 piece was like pelenials 5 piece. I don't think it would break the game that much honestly and it would open a lot more options. sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot, but any thoughts?

I've been working on a couple of hybrids and the problem I run into is finding the sweet spot between mag and Stam regen.

Inevitably any hybrid build will lean toward one or the other and I think that's why pelinals exists as is to some extent. I've also pondered the potential for using pelinals in an off healer capacity where you could push out higher mag regen with heavy attack abilities on a mostly Stam build. (Front bar dw/back bar resto staff eg.)

The other issue I've found is setting up a rotation that makes sense. Dks and templars are good candidates for hybrids because they both have HoT's that can really help with survivability but keeping high up time on them is a pain, especially when your main pressure comes from Dot's (in pvp).

As it is, I've had more success with axiom/shackle breaker as the 5 pieces body/jewelry and maelstrom weapons than with pelinals.

Next patch may have some interesting support with hybrids. I haven't fully digested the latest pts changes from yesterday but hopefully i can put some more thoughts together.

Btw, what class or role are you going for?

It got better for hybrids. Like sloads for example. But there is still room for more hybrids. Hybrid and meta just seem to exclude each other...

My biggest annoyance is Warden's Lotus. It doesnt do what the description says. It only procs heals from either physical or magical. Depending on the citical buff. The base version only on magical weapons. So i cant heal with dagger or bow's heavy attacks and buff crits on Winters revenge or Leeching Vines for example. The same here: I cant see how this would break the game, because with a Resto it works.

If pelenial's were a monster set effect, everyone would be a hybrid...there would be no downside to being one. Right now, hybrids are the secret masters of BG and Cyrodil, but only if you are good at using them and work hard with whatever build you decide to use (you can literally get away with almost anything lol). If they get buffed more or others get nerfed, then they will become the true masters of PvP...

I see what your saying but I disagree with you. Most “hybrid builds that do work aren’t true blue hybrids and if pelinals was a monster no I don’t think everyone would use it because it wouldn’t increase the damage or healing of magic or stamina just make it so you could pull moves from either or which brings viability of more builds

Nothing in particular at the moment, have tried many forms of hybrid with just about every class, and always ran into the same problem if you got up against a specialized stat build with a hybrid they will out do you most of the time yeah sometimes it’s fun to mess around with but if you go against a good player that knows what they are doing a full invested stam or mag build will win they just have much higher damage sustain and I’ve just been looking at gear combos and find myself thinking if only pets was a 2set bonus it would open up a new world.

Ps not to say hybrid builds can’t work it’s just if you take a hybrid build give it to a good player and haven an equally skilled player do a specialized build my money is on the specialized build.

It's definitely an aquired taste, if you will. Sustain can be achieved with heavy/ani-cancel if you can get it to work (hit or miss for me on console). Hybrids shine as tanks but you can squeeze enough damage if you keep Dot's up and have a strong execute like steel-nado. Constant pressure plus cost poisons can take most folks down. I'm really trying to avoid using sloads in pvp on principal, but I do like the set for solo pve on hybrids.
