Question about Meteor

Is there any reason to use this ability over Elemental Rage? It requires cruel grind to Mages guild lvl. 10 but overall does less dmg than ER and has lower radius. So what do you think?

    Some builds or classes can make use of it for large groups of enemies due to the ultimate regain from Shooting Star.

    Otherwise no, sadly the destruction staff skill kind of overshadows it these days.

    When choosing an ultimate, I give pretty high priority to trying to get 'always on' passives from having it slotted. Therefore my stam chars generally look hard at Flawless Dawnbreaker and my magic chars always consider Meteor for the, +2% mag and recovery. Meteor is also a slightly cheaper ultimate than the destro ultimate.

    For damage though, yes, the destro ultimate puts out more.

    FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
    FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
    FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
    FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.

    Meteor was a thing for sorcs when rune cage was undodgeable and unblockable. Now it's still good for mgDKs and magblades to build burst. You cast meteor and follow it up with unavoidable CC so your opponent takes full hit in the face.

    — They always claim they’re “investigating” the causes, but in reality they’re just waiting until the PC EU players go to bed. Once that happens, you can suddenly log in again and they happily mark the issue as Fixed.

    It's dawnbreaker but more expensive, with a telegraph and with a dot that doesn't stick to the target

    Meteor is amazing in laggy situations if you enjoy causing the bug where it drags someone across the map, delivers the hit, and then resets them back where they were.

    Several updates after it started, ZOS still hasn't fixed this bug.

    And just like Dawnbreaker it can be dodged when it should not be :D

    My opinion? No. Icy Rage is better in PvP. It's the only way I really have a "templar house."

    If you want an aoe dot and don't use destruction staff it is okay though right? I am collecting lorebooks and getting close to meteor.

    Passive and only use is AOE ultimate return, in crowded dungeons I have used it several times within the space of a minute or so purely because of the return, though I keep it on the back bar and use elemental on my primary for boss fights and single target.
    "Play how you want... unless its not how we intended you to play in which case we'll nerf it".

    In pve shooting star is good on trash mobs between bosses because of the ult recovery for target hit. In pvp it’s rather meh unless paired with fossilize or some other hard CC.


    I think a good change would be to speed up its telegraph. Because as is it’s so easy to counter.
