Psijic Skill Line Good for Stam Melee Builds?

hello

Friend convinced me to grab the Summerset DLC with the rewards up, I just grabbed my Dragonknight (Stam - DH & Bow - Venom) and have completed majority of the main quest. I was going to start the Psijic Order but with all the skills geared for Magicka, I'm wondering if going thru is worth the trouble and will provide any benefits...same for my Nightblade…...with the goal to get Crushing Weapon. I have a Soccer and Templar with Magicka & 1H but I'm happy with the loadouts unless there's some worth adding. I was more curious as to worth going thru for any Stam Melee Builds. Thanks.

Crushing weapon is pretty good for stam sorcs, (and elemental morph for mag sorcs depending on build), and to a slightly lesser extent stam DKS, as they all lack a hard hitting direct damage class spammable like NBs have. If your DK is specced out for mainly a light attack rotation it's great. If you're using the heavy attack buff morph of molten armaments, not so much. It's not bad on stamplar either if you have room for it. Doesn't give any splash damage like shrouded daggers, but if you're very good at quick light attack weaving it usually gives higher single target dps. The stam cost of it is probably getting reduced a bit next update as well.

I have also found channeled acceleration to occasionally give superior minor force uptime and dps over rearming trap, but only on fights with highly mobile bosses, or in messy pug runs.

The 5-6k damage shield from front barring either skill while blocking is handy as well.

Time stop I have found very useful to have on back bar in VMA on stam builds, during high pressure trash situations, particularly stage 5. No effect on bosses of course.

So in my opinion, yes, it's worth unlocking those tools for your kit, even if you don't use them all the time. The psijic quest line is fun too, the first time anyway, for the dialogue alone. On subsequent characters it's a good time to throw on some netflix. ;)
