New Shield Idea

Instead of a one second cast time how about a one second cast time for stacking shields. As in if you only have one shield on its no cast time and that is for one shield so if you cast harness magicka you can spam it or the sorc one as long as you use that one shield it can be spammed the same as it is now. However, if you have harness up and try to stack it with the sorc shield or harden ward the second shield has the one second cast time.

This would keep the flow of gameplay and keep the counter to shield play.

Just a thought, would that be a acceptable solution?

    Here's the shield I won. ZOS, take notes, please. So, it's majicka-based shield and upon cast, it drains the resources (depends upon morph) from all nearby enemies and the shields gradually increased in strength for, let's say from 6 to 8 or 10 seconds, for all enemies hit. Only way to stop is to interrupt the toon/caster. If interrupted, the cost is used up with no shield. Yeah, yeah.. maybe.. ok? B)

    Or simply give shield stacking (annulment and hardened ward) diminishing returns. For example, you cast annulment first and the shield has a 100% value; you cast hardened ward while annulment is on you and it will only get a 50% value (value is just an example).

    Preventing shield stacking would solve the PVP issue, but it sounds like shield stacking isn't that prevalent in PVE. And since ZOS explicitly wanted to nerf shields in PVE as well, that probably wasn't sufficient for their needs.

    If my idea or fvh09nl was used to fix pvp, then zos still wanted to change pve if they were to just reduce te shields the same as pvp is now for pve would that be good?

    Here's my shield idea:

    It's a sorc skill. Upon casting your magicka is drained by set amount. This amount can be modified by spell cost reduction. The value depends on the maximum magicka of the caster, as well as CP and if applicable worn sets. If you cast this shield your pets also gain a shield. One morph increases the shield size on yourself, while the other does something weird with the pets. Nobody is going to use the second morph. The skill generates a blueish aura around the caster as long as it is active. Upon taking damage, the amount of damage is taken away from the shield instead of the life total. Damage done to shields has a critical modifier of 1. The skill lasts 9 seconds. It is instant cast.
