IDEA: If you keep the shield changes as they are now, remove the teleport increase cost from sorcs.

Yeah simple as that, if Nightblades can have unlimited sneak ability without penalty for spamming it constantly, they are not getting increase cost for casting that particular spell.
Then remove the sorcerer teleport increase cost! If you keep this shield delayed cast mechanic which is mildly saying ***, then remove the penalty from Streak and Teleport abilities and it's morph, make sorcerer able to teleport like in the old days. Just think about this, it's fair in my opinion.

    What if they combined Conjured Ward and Bolt Escape into one skill where you gain the damage shield after the teleport?
    Then the magicka increase makes sense so you can't create a perma-evasion build.

    Then add in a new Daedric skill. Maybe one where you summon a flesh atronach that scales off your missing health and dies when you're back at 100%. Sort of like a mini tank.

    Yeah that sounds like a nice idea but still I think teleporting shouldnt be punished with increased cost because nigjtblades are practically doing that for a long time with speed buffs and constant stealth buff

    It's to easy to break a nightblades stealth to nerf it, you just need to learn to play and not suck. There are also more implications than pvp that cloak is used for.

    Yeah they do. Even "top tier" sorcs like Irylia can empty their magicka bar while streaking... and then turn around and discover a dozen stamtards are RIGHT behind them thanks to speed buffs and gap closers. He has a video on his Youtube of this phenomenon that I'm too lazy to link.

    Personally, I think that if Streak has to have an exponentially increasing cost, it should ALSO have an exponentially increasing range. By the time you hit that last 12K magicka cost, you should be Streaking like 50 meters or something!

    exactly i think zos made this nerf back in the day when there was no cp and it was different times, now it doesnt make sense to keep the cost increase anymore, i just hate that nightblades for example can exploit basically the movement speed and stealth without any punishment

    Lol, I can think of a lot of situations where this would end badly. Need a shield? Poof now your in front of the boss in the middle of a cleave.

    Thats why new teleport would have a mechanic of immunity after casting and maybe a smaller shield as well attached to it, that would make sorcerer gameplay unique and wouldnt be anchored down by the shields being unnatural as they are now

    They should get rid of the cast time, reduce the stacking cost to 25% if it has to be there because 50% is prohibitive to ever consider running it on anything but mag even as a pure utility escape tool. Stamsorcs should be able to use this skill. Just adding a resource return of highest stat pool to projectile intercept of the other morph would make it somewhat appealing for non-mag specs.

    Cast times are just...plain unfun. They disrupt the flow of combat, often leave you completely defenseless (and dead), or just get interrupted then put on a cool down.

    With how dodge roll functions in the PTS I can sort understand the Rune Cage change. It’s not a good change, but it can now be used for tricking mag specs into using a dodge roll right before you’re about to close on them for burst. Against stam, it’s not exactly useful. Even undodgeable it still wasn’t really that big a deal for stam classes to break free.

    The function of a skill as a mind game is interesting, if not exactly what they intended for it. Adding Minor Breech/Minor Fracture to the base skill + morphs, application regardless of stun or not, might make it more appealing.

    Defensive Rune is still wonky in that it will stun the guy across the map instead of the one hitting you if you’re unlucky with the timing of enemy DoTs. Probably something better would be Direct Damage to proc, stun attacker, apply Minor Breech/Minor Fracture in a radius around you. Something along those lines. This makes it effective as an anti gank, anti melee measure that can be used to punish the attacker.

    While we're at it we should let streakers carry scrolls again... and give frags back its stun! Lets go back to the days of PvP videos with sorcs streaking around infinitely until frags proced and either nuke someone down or streak away to exchange behind a boulder. Those were some impressive shenanigans.
    Something being unbalanced in 1v1 does not imply that it is balanced in group play.

    I agree. It is annoying that we sometimes have to pay 800g on our sorcerers just to teleport from a quest location back to town. The increasing wayshrine cost should be removed for sorcs as compensation for shields having a one second cast time. While we are at it, the teleport animation should lowered to one second to be consistent with the new shield mechanics. This would further solidify sorc in their new role as RP class.

    Make streak 1 sec cast time as well. Following ZOS logic, that's another too OP skill to avoid damage.

    I appreciate the spirit in which this change is offered.

    However, it would only help PvP sorcs, and we need to be cognizant of the ways in which a 1-second cast time really causes inexperienced players and PuGs to struggle completing vet PvE content.We need a different solution, and one that affects shields.
