OP, I sincerely hope there's a great movie or a great book out there that you genuinely love so much that you recommend it to the world over, and your love for it made your family and friends love it, too.

Then, I sincerely hope, the director or the author releases a director's cut or another author's rewrite that totally shatters your faith in the aforementioned movie or book.

Lastly, I hope you purchased both for $14.99 apiece, only to learn just how changed they were from what came before.

So what you're saying is one person's petty and childish decision to hack someone's Twitter and make a serious allegation is somehow on the community as a whole? I think most people were pretty disgusted by the whole thing. Speaking for most of us right now, I can say we don't want to be associated with such a vile troll. Elitism forces things to become better. The finest example is World of Warcraft, people constantly talk crap in the forums, even when the game is in a really good spot, and you know what? they make it even better, and they have good numbers because of that. Also remember ESO on launch day? yeah, elitism (and people quitting) helped to obtain the ESO we have today.

With no elitism and people to complain, you obtain Final Fantasy 14 online, complete garbage of a game constantly filled with microtransactions items. The pvp is a moba completely unrelated to the main game. Endgame is a joke. The few people that still play it are fine with getting scammed out of their money and playing a mediocre game, and so the devs (&publisher) are not pushing toward better content.

So, in conclusion, it's good to complain about things as long as it's a civil discussion.

First, yeah it may have had something to do with the changes, but it may also have been completely unrelated.

Second, I don't care how upset a person is about changes. If anyone thinks what happened last night is a fine and rational "adult" reaction to the stupid patch notes, please be sure you are being clear so the rest of us know what kind of person you are.

Passionate people playing a game is good for the bottom line of the game. People are passionately and rightfully upset because an unnecessary change is being proposed that could be potentially game breaking to something they are passionate about. Hacking someones account, if that truly did happen by someone upset over changes, is going too far though.

If you don't feel that you are in any way a part of this, then this is obviously not directed at you. You can safely ignore this and move along. If however, you feel angry enough to do something like what I mentioned (or you're whacko enough to have done it), then you are in fact part of the problem. We're all [allegedly] too old for stuff like this. We all know better and we can do better. All this does is make us look like a bunch of unreasonable children with no common sense or self control, which makes us not worth listening to.

To those who are not part of the problem, instead of arguing with me, you should be mad at whoever made us all look bad.

In all cases, the person making the change either owns the intellectual property or is licensed to use or modify the intellectual property.

The consumer owns nothing of the entertainment he or she consumes, outside of the delivery media it was printed on.

Good point. I think that person might be incredibly disappointed in how unbelievably boring and not worth hacking I am though. I'm not really ultimately worried because I'm not important enough to take that kind of risk.
