I've been running this for the last couple of days, and I've really been enjoying the experience. Though I'm looking for a better way to break snares. Let me know if you have any better solutions than vampire haha. Thanks!

Nice build video! Running something very similar on my magblade right now! I was/still am a templar main so when i tried magblade, I ended up with a heavy armor vamp magblade. :P

Alternating between heavy armor mageblade and melee mageblade. FM on melee is very nice to enable easy escapes and cloaks, but the burst is not there unless i rely on zaan and caluurions...

Yeah I've had the same issue. I tried for a forward momentum build next, but it means I basically have to change to the Serpent or otherwise work in extra stam recovery, which is a pain. Maybe escapist poisons?

    maybe a stam recov jewelry?

Would you say your heavy armor magebldae would work without the maelstrom resto?

It would likely work, but I'd be giving up roughly magicka 266 recovery, which would probably negatively effect my damage, since I'll have to work in that recovery elsewhere. Why do you ask?

Hmm probably shift some jewelries to mag recovery then? You're using 3 spell damage right? I ask because I havent bothered doing vMA yet :(

I probably should with my magsorc/magnb soon though. If that shield changes take effect it'd be waaaaaay harder.

Again nice video! Discussion was very good. Are you a teacher/tutor or something in real life? Haha

Haha well thank you! Nah lecturing is just a hobby of mine.

It's definitely worth running maelstrom (on mageblade) now. It's pretty easy, and you'll be able to do both good damage and healing in the games current state. Plus the changes to shield will likely make it harder.

This was a great presentation and I'm glad that you showed your skills on the battlefield with such detailed explanation, that was unique :). I feel like the majority on youtube just brag of their builds without actually presenting any fight.
You literally encouraged me to make your build on my Breton :). Just without maelstrom, I won't have it. War Maiden resto Powered could be an alternative?

Thank you @Gargath! I'm glad you enjoyed it! If I didn't have the maelstrom resto I'd probably use a willpower resto for the bigger healing ward. You could also try using an absorb magicka glyph front bar (which is pretty great sustain). I'd also still use infused or defending over powered. I hope this helps!

You still have stam recovery issues using a 2h up front? I assumed heavy attacks here and there would suffice @Grimick especially with shackle on.

Yeah I did. It wasn't an issue when I was attacking, but when I'm kiting (not getting heavy attacks and trying to sprint, dodge roll, and cast Forward Momentum) things got hairy fast. It didn't solve my issues quite like I hoped it would. I might be able to get away with using an absorb stamina glyph on my resto and moving weapon damage to the front, but at that point I'm just as well adding stamina recovery to my jewelry. It's a bit of a conundrum.

Interesting. Wonder if it’s worth a race change to something with some stam. I’d love to make it work as well. Such a fun play style.
