Normal vs Vampire and Dawnbreaker damage. 2018 Wolfhunter

ChiknAriseMcFro
Play testing the difference today in BGs. Was a vampire and per some advice I dropped vamp so as to reduce Dawnbreaker damage. However, oddly enough when I was a vamp I was only getting hit for about 3.5k. Now I'm getting hit for 5.2k and this is vs the same player. Did something about vamp change recently?

Keep in mind vampire has a passive that grants you up to 33% damage mitigation depending on how hurt you are. It is possible that you got hit for 3.5k as a vampire when at low health and thus protected by the passive.

Also, the attacking player might have had different weapon damage between the cases (my stamblade wearing senche has very different weapon damage after rally and roll dodge than without both). Same goes for your defense. It is very hard to test things like that in live environment - too many variables.

Fair enough. For all I know he changed chars or sets. Just seems odd.

I change from vamp to normal in bgs now DB hits for nothing but spin to win and bleeds still wreck me, eh.

I've been considering dropping vamp, but mist form is to good to give up

Could have been a crit vs. non-crit.

There's also plenty of other factors that can make a player's weapon damage vary over time, without any changes to their build. Stat proc sets (7th Legion, Fury, etc.), a berserker weapon glyph, Master's bow, just to name a few.

Several of these may have been on downtime during the first DB, resulting in a lower tooltip.

Plus buffs/debuffs and penetration makes a difference as well. Like others have said, weapon damage can greatly differ even on the same char. Some builds e.g. have unbuffed 3.3k weapon dmg but can raise that up to over 6k via various set procs.
