Strange things in PvP (mainly ball groups)

Another quick thread not related to my other one. The other night EP was attacking DC at Ales and it was the usual chaos and twice this happened. I ran to the bottom of the stairs near the farm chasing some reds and I hear "thwumpthwumpthwumpthwumpthwump" literally in rapid succession, I mean like machine gun fast. I stopped and did a WTF moment realizing it was Caltrops, literally 7-10 of them on the exact same spot on the ground overlapped on me. Now granted I know these groups run Caltrops but factoring in the human element I highly doubt that many people dropped it on the exact same spot in rapid succession like that. It was odd. Then a few minutes later in a different spot it happened again literally "thwumpthwumpthwumpthwumpthwump" and a bunch of Caltrops appeared on the ground overlapping almost perfectly. There's just no way in a chaotic battle that many people are placing that many Caltrops that close together in rapid succession. I've been trying to get it on video has anyone else seen this?

Is it possible an enemy AoE (I suppose in this case it would be yours or an ally) get cast on top of the caltrops when they were cast?

Here is a very little known bug.

When an enemy casts an AoE over the Rune created from Eternal Hunt it causes the Rune to explode like a machine gun without being consumed.

The easiest way to actually see this bug in action is against the Big Bone Colossus in the Memorial District of IC.

He does that AoE (of silence), be next to him, roll dodge creating the rune under his AoE, have him step on it, and deal insane damage.

I have instagibbed two players by this means as well (accidentally, but just shows the bug is more than PvE)

Your description of Caltrops sounds an awful lot like the same bug

It's literally a rapid fire drop of Caltrops inches apart, like 7-10 of them all at once.

Could it be 1 person just spamming caltrops on the same spot, and lag causing them to appear in rapid succession?

Could be a player running a bot program and had multiple toons all cast the same skill... seen bots do this in PVE zones.
