Yes and no.
I like that idea that the dog runs to greet you, but the cat wouldn't, and I'd expect the horse to stay in the stable. Given that each pet would need a different AI to drive it, it's probably too much work for the minimal and non-functional enhancement.
Being able to cook in your fireplace (with provisioning upgrade) comes far ahead of this.

Dear Santie,
Normally, this one would be hesitant to write such a letter at such a time of year, but this one thinks it is time you knew. This one thinks Razum-dar has been visiting Mrs. Claws. It can be appreciated that the Eye of the Queen has favors in many lands, but this one thinks he may have gone too far this time.
Your year-long fan,
Kha'atar

Unique AI for each type of pet is totally unnecessary. Just a generalized wandering AI would be more than enough to give some life to placed pets.
I actually like that mounts are stationary, though they could do with some more interesting idle animations.
For pets, I always enjoyed how pets behaved in EQ2. They would meander around your house, and you could interact with them in a very basic sense. Pet them, have them do a trick, tell them to stay put or go to sleep etc.
Something similar would be nice, just to liven up our homes a bit.

Kinda sorta congrats on your wish being granted... kinda?
Or is that the wrong type of special? I can never tell which is which.

I admit, I have a fondness for EQ2 housing. They did not have collision limits and it caused ALL kinds of problems. You just hoped you could login to someone's house when they invited you. Playing with pets was a lot of fun. Also the talking statues and other interactive items (*sniff* Erollisi Marr... I miss the you I first knew *sniff* and no, I was NOT creeping on your statue).
Having wandering pets would be cool. But the sheer variety of items that can be placed in an ESO house are amazing. I'm not complaining. I'm also glad that new and constant content is being released which allow us as players to make really cool things. Someday I'll miss my houses in ESO, but right now, I'm enjoying what I can do in them when I have time to work on them. And the list is very long on mandatory items I need to acquire to put in my houses.
