Sanies Lupinus

I was bitten by another player to receive Werewolf; this gave me the 'Sanies Lupinus' Active Effect. I immediately finished the quest and became a Werewolf on on 9/10/2015. This gave me the 'Lycanthropy' Active Effect. However, the 'Sanies Lupinus' Active Effect never went away (as it should have). I have completed the quest to become a Werewolf multiple times hoping it would clear the 'Sanies Lupinus' Active Effect, to no avail. Finally, today - following the advice in this thread - I went to Prelate Sabinus and cured only 'Sanies Lupinus' for 69 gold. This removed only the 'Sanies Lupinus' Active Effect but left my 'Lycanthropy' Active Effect alone (which is what I wanted). However, it seems like a glaring oversight that I'd need to do this.

Pretty sure I still have Sanies Lupinus on all my werewolf characters, it doesn't really do anything besides show up under active effects. However, if it's interfering with getting werewolf cured, that is an issue.

It was changed at some point. "Sanies Lupinus' Active Effect" used to be on a timer and would disappear on its own.

The issue isn't that it does anything or stops you from curing Werewolf (in fact, when you go to cure there are two cure options: one for 'Sanies Lupinus' and one for 'Lycanthropy' and you can cure them individually). The bug is that 'Sanies Lupinus' persists despite 'Lycanthropy'. 'Sanies Lupinus' is the initial virus which procs your getting the "Hircine's Gift" quest. Once you've done that quest, it's supposed to go away and be replaced with 'Lycanthropy'.

Yes. That is the exact post I quoted in my original bug report. However, I doubt they intended for you to have both; rather it seems like it's a bug and 'Sanies Lupinus' is supposed to either (1) last until cured or (2) last until replaced with 'Lycanthropy'.
