Washed out? As if the colors just aren't right?

I like black gear but I can't dye Sapiarch black without it looking like dark grey for example.

I've notice all cloth and leather gear seems to be pot luck on what the colors are going to be when dying them.. Really shaogorath insane imo..

They heard our complaints about washed out and faded looking gear when dyed. Decided we don't complain enough so gave us more to gripe about.

Sometimes using different color qualities works but I have come to the conclusion that the Sheogorath Suit was done that way purposely to make you crazy... I like the massive texture variance but it makes mixing and matching very difficult. I think some vibrant colors should override the costume textures...

The new styles such as Horns of the Reach, Dragon Bones and the new styles from Wolf Hunter do not dye well. On the older styles, for example, the racial ones and barbaric if you dye them a Common colour they appear to be deep in tone, however when used on the new styles it loses it depth and does appear to be washed out. I've noticed the rarer colours seem to add shine to some clothing. Personally, as an RP'er, I aim for realism and don't want leather to look like PVC.

On a completely different subject the newer styles although better with meshing and detail, they completely change a character body. The Bloodroot forge style and Fanglair, for example, the shoulders would be very square rendering the shoulder to clip through some shoulder armours, such as the soul shriven light.

The new styles since horns of the reach do not dye well in red or black. I agree, it appears pink or gray. Not just leather, heavy armor too. Other colors seem to look fine.

I was so happy to have gotten my Fanged Worm Jack, but when i dye the cloth part Coldharbour Ash Black, it turns Gray. Then when i dye the light Mazzatun Legs the same color, its blacker than the void.

    I feel your pain.

I've been remarking on this on the PTS and other forums for ages, the person in charge of texturing the new armors seems to have some kind of obsession with materials that dye terribly.
Tsaesci was the last motif released to dye even remotely true to color.

There are so many amazing motifs in this game that I refuse to use simply because of this problem.

I really hate it when I make a look, like the way it looks, then when I dye it the color scheme I want, one or two pieces always are way more vibrant or way more washed out than the rest, completely destroying the look. You can try various colors to get something that kind of matches, but you can always tell the difference depending on what light you're in.

    It's irritating.

I agree. The new styles are not great in my opinion. Boxy and ill fitting on female characters .

    Dyes poorly too.
    Of course I like steak. I'm a Nord, aren't I?
