Maintenance for the week of December 22:
• NA megaservers for maintenance – December 22, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 8:00AM EST (13:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for maintenance – December 22, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 8:00AM EST (13:00 UTC)

Can we have updates done while I'm sleeping?

Just a general request for every MMO out there who is getting a monthly fee from me – please do your maintenance updates when I'm asleep and not when I'm awake. If you do them while I'm awake, feel free to implement a system where you credit me some of my monthly fee back for the time I'm sitting here waiting for you to work on your servers.

I sleep 8 hours every day. That's a good time to work on the servers. :)

THank you!

I suggest moving to a timezone where you sleep while the people working on the servers are in their work hours. B)

Yes, but you'll need to plan your sleep around the downtimes

I just wish we could download the patch at an earlier time and have it become active upon their patch maintenance. Like download the patch 2 days before it goes live and have it on your Xbox so it will take effect when patch maintenance is finished, that way we have less downtime as players.

Don't know if it can be done that way, just a thought.

Can't tell if serious or sarcasm...cause yeah they are going to check with you.

It's around the lowest population times of the North American servers which is the heaviest population of players. Get use to it, or play a Korean MMO where they will be updating during their low times which would be when you are asleep.

No, they need to plan their maintenance around their customers' play time. Otherwise, their customers will pay someone else and leave.

I just wish updates came on a different day. I have to work all day, have kids to take care of after. I'll maybe get to play for two hours tonight if I'm not too tired. If it was on a Friday rather than a Tuesday, I would have much more time to play.

Oh well, I'll just have to wait 4 more days to fully enjoy Wolfhunter.

I believe ToS and EULA would like to have a word with you. There is something about Zenimax Online Studios not being responsible for any kind of service interruptions and you not being eligible for any kind of compensation for those interruptions in them. So there is that...

do you not know how mmo work?

for starters america has at least 3- 4 times zones.

west coast, central, mountain, and east coast. some of those times zones have daylight saving time. at some point no matter the time zone someone is going to be inconvenienced, also ToS states they can't guarantee the game will be active 24/7. And you need to agree to it to play.

I've been playing MMO since 2004 and it was only the past 4 years have been been bringing up this complaint. Sorry, but that isn;t how MMO work. they need to go down for maint when they are active. anything can happen when they update servers (like a virus happening, or the company is ddos) they need to be there to be on the ball.

Sorry but they are not going to refund your money when they go down, that isn't how things work. Don't play MMO if you don't agree with this stuff.

You are confused. This is a marketplace and I'm a customer and they are selling me a product. If the product they are selling isn't available when I want to play, I will use a different product. Yes, I do feel entitled to a service I'm paying for whenever I want to use it. If they want to go to an hourly rate service, they should do that. But they are charging me a monthly fee and so I expect to play whenever I want in that month.

Yeah, 10am Central is 8am Pacific and 11am Eastern. Most people here in North America are awake then, right? Maybe they can bring their people in a bit earlier and do the maintenance?

Yep, people in Australia might choose to be on the North America server. It's a simple cost analysis for the company selling the product. Do they want the 579 million people in North America to have access to their game, or the 24 million people in Australia?

I'm in North America playing on the NORTH AMERICA server and they are charging me a monthly fee to be able to play their game, hence I'd like to be able to play their game.

Lol yeah I thought this was a joke until I scrolled down more. Regardless of maintenance window, you’re really asking ZOS to provide an SLA. Which is a service level agreement. This is where very expensive commercial internet connections provide reimbursement for downtime that exceeds the “five nines” usually which is 99.999 percent uptime. Which is actually still significant downtime considering an entire year. I hear. I’m not doing the math so don’t flame me if I’m wrong.

But I digress. The request is laughable. Your own ISP doubtfully provides such an agreement. I doubt you have any consumer-grade services with SLAs.

So yeah... the other option is to switch to metered use. That’s why you don’t have this request with your power company when tr power goes out.

How would you like that? A metered use subscription? Lol!!!

I read more. Yeah, so Friday and Saturday nights are the worst nights for me. Since I can actually stay up late and play. So since I play more, my desires trump yours. Lol.

But seriously, you should go to another MMO if this is earth shattering to you. I think he maintenance windows are fine. And the use statistics ZOS have would agree. I’m sure they’re scheduled during least populated times. Anything else would be unrealistic.

I too am in North America, on the North American server. I happen to be in the most eastern time zone, which is the same time zone that ZoS/Bathesda operates in. Except for one other time zone at any given time, my time zone is the latest time in North America.

I also pay monthly for ESO like lots of other people....so what? That does not entitle me to anything outside the ESO agreement.

Typically, maintenance starts at 4AM eastern so the would be 3AM central where @tallscot claims to be.

I would venture that the majority of the North American player base is asleep when maintenance starts.

"Normal buisness hours" doesn't start at 3am or 4am, it starts at 9am.

So they already start maintenance when most people are asleep and if it's a long maintenance, most are going to work or school instead of at home wanting to play. Sometimes maintenance takes longer than anticipated....tough

They also often do maintenance on Tuesday if Monday is a day that people often take off.

So they pretty much already arrange shut downs during way off peak hours.

If those hours don't match up with your schedule, which consequently you have not stated what that is, too bad. Deal with it or rage off elsewhere.
