Hi everyone!

In this thread I try to summarize the most annoying pvp bugs you currently find on live servers. I know we should just post bugs individually here in this forum but this whole overview might give a bit more of an insight what troubles PVP players at the moment and it also provides a checklist for upcoming patches to see how much things improved (hopefully!).

Just for clarification, everything noted here is based on console, PS4, update 18 since Wolfhunter is not live on console yet (so if all of these bugs are fixed in update 19, you can consider this thread obsolete, tho I assume it won't be ;)). Probably most of the bugs will be present on other platforms, too. My focus is also entirely on bugs, not on subjective balance issues. If you did not experience most or even any of the bugs I mention here, that's awesome. But rest assured each single of them exists and they can pile up to nasty, nasty cascades with some bad "rng". I'll give examples of such a possible cascade down below in the end of this summary.

Lag and performance-related bugs

1. Not possible to switch skillbars or very slow skillbar swap, one of the "classics" among the performance bugs.
2. Attacks are getting stuck. You press a button and nothing happens or the skill fires off very slowly (comparable to the sprint bug down below)
3. Skills hitting delayed but all at once, removing counter-play entirely. A very common issue is snipes that hit all at once, depleting a full health bar within a glimpse of a moment. You hear the first snipe and know you die, regardless of blocking, dodge-roll, shields, heals or whatnot.
4. Game crashes or kicks off the game, often with accusation of our own internet connection (while Spotify is streaming without any hickup)
5. After a crash sometimes it is not possible to login with the same character again (ESO stating problems with our internet connection) which can be fixed by logging in on another toon (if you have more than one) and then again with your pvp toon. If the campaign was full, chances are you a) have to re-queue again (we have way too much waiting and loading times in the game already) and b) you lose all the AP (ap ticks) you got credited before the kick. That's double punishment for something out of our control.
6. Perma roots/stuns. You are stunned, you break free, you are stunned again. PVP ignores the CC cooldown way too often, probably caused by lag. In the current situation with the tremendous burst in the game this cooldown bug is a death sentence basically. It ruins combat balance and counterplay on a technical side (like skill or set discussions which are not the topic of this thread).
7. Frozen screens during combat. Sometimes the framerate does not drop but the game entirely freezes. If it unfreezes without a crash, you will be dead. This is one of the most frustrating experiences in PVP.
8. Framerate-Drops even without anything going on. This is a bit unspecific but the framerate drops happen randomly even if you are entirely on your own and no fight in any close keep is highlighted on the map. So it's difficult to figure out a certain condition for those random framerate drops.

Visual and gameplay bugs

1. Keep or outpost doors cannot be opened. You approach a keep, you are pressured by chasing enemies and you just cannot enter the keep or outpost although you spam the open button. Sometimes spamming the button results in getting in and out again right away, a hurtful experience.
2. Occasionally invisible crown (the on-screen symbol of the group leader). It makes the navigation without on-screen-map harder than it is already. The invisible crown bug happens occasionally in Cyrodiil and also quite frequently when you enter new areas in Imperial City.
3. Sprint bug: locked in sprint, unable to use abilities until stamina is empty or it goes away after a while.
4. Door glitch #1: Sometimes the side doors of keeps or outposts appear to be broken although the wall is at 100% health. I have seen whole guilds enter a keep through such broken side walls without properly sieging down the wall. It's been abused by so many people that a quick fix would be a lot more helpful than any form of punishment. This is a serious issue.
5. Door glitch #2: In some rare cases the opposite to the former mentioned point happens. A door has been sieged down successfully but it keeps to be present on screen and cannot be passed. I had this issue in outer keep doors multiple times. Reload UI can fix it but it leads to a loading screen in which you cannot defend or interact in any kind of combat. Or in other words: most likely you will be dead once the loading screen ends. Sad story.
6. Health bar glitch: Sometimes the health bar gets stuck at a value below 100% health and you cannot heal it up regardless how much healing you get. Very irritating and very old bug, too. It's probably live for as long as pvp exists.
7. "Permanent" status effects like burning or new: sloads. Probably most of the pvp players have seen a status effect lasting the next hundreds of days. Even tho that's most likely just an UI bug, it is irritating and you are tempted to spam cleanses although none is needed. Irritating, as well.
8. Riding bug #1: You are always dismounted when you pass a scroll base gate. Hasn't this been fixed a while ago? Well, the bug is back.
9. Riding bug #2: Random dismounts while riding across Cyrodiil for no obvious reason. You are forced off your mount in the middle of nowhere which is annoying. This is not a new bug and should have been fixed before as well. But now this dismount bug is back again.
11. Riding bug #3: Not being able to mount for unknown reasons like after a fight. It can be frustrating to see your buddies jump on their mount while you cannot although you have not had more or less of a fight than them. Very annoying bug.
12. Skills or (AOE) damage sometimes not telegraphed, no counter-play possible.
13. No visual difference between friendly and hostile meatbags. You cannot tell if it's a "good" or "bad" AOE.
14. No visual difference between friendly or hostile negate until the moment you step in and try to figure it out yourself.
15. AP ticks are cut off in the on-screen message as soon as they are 5-digits in size: 10,000+. Even if you zoom in the screen, the first number stays cut off. It happens in German language on PS4. I can just assume it does not happen in English language.
16. Dead or alive bug: Sometimes players appear to be dead but when you try to rez them, you cannot. They run around and are obviously perfectly fine, yet on your end they show dead.

Various other bugs

1. Campaign buffs not always applied properly. Example: emp buff not applied after getting an emp or emp buff is not removed after losing it.
2. Loading screens: they are too many, they are too long, they happen in the worst possible moments. A keep flips, loading screen (sometimes, not everytime). A keep changes its level, loading screen. Weather changes while you ride along the countryside, loading screen. You respawn in the very same keep you were in before, loading screen. You use a camp... you figured it. And each of the loading screens has (still) the potential to become an exceptional long one. And each loading screen also has the potential to kill you, in particular the loading time while you resurrect in a camp. Nothing is more frustrating than to resurrect somewhere to be killed without any chance to counter. We wait way too much and way too long in this game.
3. Randomly losing voice chat. This may be something PC players are not aware of but on console we can actually use voice chat within groups or zones. Sometimes however, the channels disappear and we cannot re-enter them OR the channel automatically switches after a loading screen and we have to rejoin the appropriate game chat again manually. That's an annoying one and also quite a lasting bug, troubling us for quite a long while now. It also happens in PVE.
4. Imperial City Scamp bug for AD: The scamp in the first AD room does not have a path it follows until it teleports away. It teleports away instantaneously, making it a lot harder to kill said scamp. Since it was one of this year's Mayhem achievements, we should hope this bug is no more present next year.

Final thought: Unpleasant bug cascades are both horrible and funny same time

To illustrate what happens when you are blessed with a bug cascade, just one tiny example: Let's say you are forced off your mount without any obvious reason, followed by a sprint bug so you cannot use skills, you are now attacked and stunned, you break free and you are stunned immediately again by enemy attacks, followed by a random loading screen after which you find yourself dead. While your blood pressure rises, you are in luck! You can respawn in a close camp. But then it happens. You find yourself in one of those neverending loading screens. After a (way too long) while the loading screen ends but so does your luck. You are dead right away. While you were stuck in the loading screen, enemies found your camp and your body in the meta phase between dead and alive. Well the body was alive enough to kill you while you watched the image of Cyrodiil, your loading screen placeholder. Nothing you could do about. You also cannot do anything about the 3-minute penalty until you can respawn in another camp. This waiting time gives you plenty of time to think about what just happened. Not good for the blood pressure. At all.

So many bugs :(. I miss the "stuck in battle bug". Easy to reproduce: Go to the one running in circles on top of a keep resource tower like a crazy chicken, get hit, hit him. Don't kill him and don't get killed. Go away. Go back to Keep TS and wait and wait and wait ...
