Quest Rewards Missing

I completed one of the fighter's guild repeatable quests (got killed multiple times for my effort and had to respawn 5 TIMES to complete using crystals) and when I went to get my reward they just never appeared in my inventory. Like WTF? I am grinding away to get enough in game gold to buy some bank slots so I really needed the 1000 or so gold that mission would have given me.
I'm running a PC with Windows 7 Home Premium, on the EU megaserver - I wish I'd taken screenshots but in all honesty after an hr of grinding away and then to have it go awol I was so mad I just logged off before I launched my laptop out the window.
