Quick question. New magblade player. I have siroria, mothers sorrow and Valkyn Skoria. What I don’t have is the maelstrom inferno staff but I do have the maelstrom lightning staff. Would it be better to run a mother’s sorrow inferno on my back bar or the maelstrom lightning staff? Not sure which is going to give better dps. I’m new to magblade and I’m still trying to master the rotation and I’m not consistent enough yet to get an accurate dps test to see which is better.

you can definitely use you maelstrom lightning for the mean time until you get a flame staff. the set bonus vma staff gives is a huge increase on light attack damage.

Yeah, I would probably go with the VMA lighting. Rotation is always more important than gear, especially on NB. I would also hop back into VMA. Haha

If you’re playing with a lightning maelstrom staff on back bar with a flame enchant.... wouldn’t Ilambris be better DPS than Skoria for now?

EDIT: Especially if you're High Elf instead of Dark Elf

The difference between sorrow inferno and VMA lightning is minimal so either is fine to run. Benefit with lightning is you'll get more light attack damage and also off balance/concussed. Mother's inferno would likely be slightly better in groups tho.

Definitely recommend running vMA for the inferno tho, my rota with inferno pulls 2k higher than lightning solo, even more in a group.

Thanks for the answers. I figured using the maelstrom staff was best as light attacks are so much of a magblade dps.
