Why am I so bad with Stamina?

So after reading how my main Sorc got nerfed up the behind, I made a StamBlade (Spriggans, Marksman and Bloodspawn) and a StamKnight (Shacklebreaker, Hulking Draugr and Blood Spawn).

FOR THE LIFE OF ME...I cannot kill a single player in PvP. My attacks barely scratch a player, but even with max resistance on my DK (heavy armor), a single player's attack is still hitting me and halving my health and i cannot fight back. My StamBlade seriously doesn't do a single ounce of damage to a player in any instance.

But as soon as I hop on my MagSorc, oh brace yourself....my Overloads hit for 12k, frags hitting for 5k, its like...will I never be good with Stamina? I'm trying to maximize my play styles by experimenting with different play styles...but I just can't figure out how to get good with a Stamina toon.

Please...help me

Oh and fix the servers!!!!

In my experience with dk your HoTs are just as important as your DoTs and your health still will pulse like you're staring at a strobe light. Haven't rolled a stamblade.

You should tell us what skills you are using and how does your burst combo go? Also if you are on 2h/bow, SnB/2h or whats your setup? And whats your food, potions? How does your stats look like when you are all buffed up?

I had the same issue with stamblade.
Followed all the "how to" guides..got my rotation down...(back bar/bow: light attack; poison injection -swap- ambush; heavy attack; incap; suprise attack; suprise attack; heavy attack; executioner)....still couldn't kill anyone.
Played snipe spammer for a day, but felt dirty even for a nightblade to do that, so ended up making my nightblade into a tank.
No regrets....nightblade tank has been fun as hell. Stamblade just isn't for me.

Nah sorry man. What it takes is practice. Practice make perfect

You could also probably benefit from adding at least 1 proc to your build, especially if you are new to the class or playstyle. That is what a lot of people are running in order to improve their damagez.

PVP has gotten so competitive that if you aren't running 'meta' gear or top of the line stuff, you are at a disadvantage and you will feel it.

Always gotta gold ur weapons, get purple jewelry, purple gear. Enchants should all b gold

In addition to what @ESO_GOD said I found it quite helpful to actually level my new pvp toons in the under 50 campaigns. It evens the playing field a little and you can see what works and the flaws easier. Sometimes cp will hide a hindrance or make a combo work better than it should.

Stamina in the game is atrocious?, sounds like you have no idea how to play stam chars, as they are pretty hard hitting on pve and pvp.

Most often though, when i get some stam enemy on me (be am i on stam or mag, lately played mainly stamplar, stamsorc, mdk and stamblade) and they have trouble on getting me to low hp or pressured atleast is that the thing they do is way too complicated kinda, like a pve rotation style. And its not getting kills. You need to plan a thing, a spammable, a high damage ulti to go with that, a CC and thats all, keep it simple and see the results, make your build/setup so that it benefits that simple(ish) burst the most. Stuff like double dot poisons add up the pressure a lot. Some poisons in general can be very strong to help land kills, especially when you still are training on stamina classes.

Dont give up though, playing stam classes are fun, one should play all the classes to learn their strenghts and weaknesses, it makes you a more complete warrior on the battlefields.

Also, as said.. tell us in more detail about your setup, stats and how you play them. Easier to give some tips & tricks. :)

I believe that's exactly what OP was saying - he doesn't know yet how to "stam" and was looking for guidance.

Unlike with mag and shields, players can now crit on you. Be sure to build for crit resistance.

Vigor is your new shield, keep it up all the time. Rally for burst heal or forward momentum for immunity.

Takes time, and lots of people in PVP have played for longer, have better ping, and know their builds well. I've been on a stamblade for nearly two months and am just now starting to get better at melee. It's tough with all the lag on top of playing in a country without servers. Mess around with your rotations and don't forget potions. The best all around I've found for stam are speed with immovability and stamina. Drink them often since they raise your stam recovery by a lot as well. Sometimes speed x vanish if you use cloak a lot and get outnumbered by too many.

Stamina, in both PvP and PvE, takes more skill to play then Magicka in this game. Like someone said above, practice makes perfect.

Took me a few attempts to 'learn to stam' after rolling magsorc for years.

For me it ultimately boiled down to ignoring all the build vids/advice etc. and doing my own thing. I mean most of em advocate med armour, which is hard to survive in if you're not used to it and/or the class.

Ultimately I built a lizard brawler instead. Started off with heavy armour, S+B, troll-king, health recov in my drink.. and gradually replaced the survivability bit by bit as I started getting the hang of it.. Switching out SnB for DW, troll-king for veli, heath recov for stam recov and serpent for warrior etc..
I survive just as well now as I when I started, but with much, much less investment in survivability - just needed that buffer to get the hang of it. Still a work in progress tho..!

Biggest things were to remember to vigour before taking damage(rather than waiting till after), and always keep a shade nearby (still working on that)

^^^^ This is basically what I did.

I run a 2H/Bow Brawler Redguard NB. I CAN gank, but Khaijit/Bosmer with better gank stats can do it far better. But, unlike those playstyles as a Brawler I can tank a few hits, have strong stamina regen and invested a lot into Roll Dodge reduction as my primary defense.

Agreed. You need to learn a different playstyle and suss out your strengths and weaknesses. Reduce number of factors eg get rid of champion points and monster helms for you and enemies to focus on: mitigation, damage, sustain, positioning, strategy.

Record your PvP footage. Rewatch, observe damage you are doing via taking, revisit your build / slotted skills / playstyle for improvement.

NB and DK can both tank, heal, and Dps the question is what mix do you want or how can you synergize and be good at all 3?

So after reading how my main Sorc got nerfed up the behind, I made a StamBlade
This is why you're having trouble. Sorcs didn't get nerfed. NBs did. Before you scream otherwise, look at it like this:

Sorc get "%" reduction of "X" in [skill], but gains "%" in "Y" of [healing]

NBs get "%" reduction of "X" in [skill], but gains "%" in "Y" of [stam/mag depending which is larger]

Stop and take a long look at that and then try to see how sorcs were "nerfed".

If anything, they were buffed because the other classes were nerfed.

Playing a stamBlade now has become difficult again. Not as it was when the game was released, but it's gotten worse.

My sorc, with a slight change in skills and proc sets, doesn't get hurt as it did pre-Summerset.

Nah. Nothing wrong with your build.

Everything wrong with the game not making up its mind on what to do.

    Oh... and it changes again.

The secret about PvP is animation cancel and macro the **** out of everything and try to break the game mechanics to the max.

    Current ESO PvP situation:
    - Normal players: 1 attack / sec
    or
    - Endorsed gameplay by Zenimax devs: Animation cancel macro game mechanic breakers: 5 attacks / sec

5 attacks per second will make you extreme superior in every way in ESO if the other player plays the game without cheating, this is allowed and heavily endorsed by the devs because they can't fix it, otherwise known as animation cancel macro attacks.

Especially since the ESO netcode is like only 1 or 2 hertz when zergs fight each other, being able to do 5 attacks / sec will seem as 1 big attack and will result in 5x the normal damage rate.

This mechanic is approved, endorsed and applauded by the devs (Wrobel on video) so my advice: learn to break this game mechanics to the max and epic damage and glory will await you!

**This post is 100% sarcastic and meanwhile it contains 100% truth**
