An idea for balista/trebs

Hey there guys! I had an idea for balista/trebs I wanted to posted in case it's not one said yet!

As we all know balistas are the best by far for taking walls - I know a lot of people who want trebs to be viable but if we buff them to be good one or the other will always be good so my idea is this:

don't change the damage of either of them at all - but make it so balistas damage falls off based on distance however treb is constant

this way they will both have a place without one being clearly better than the other

    Ballista is also a really good bow ultimate. Not so good at sieging walls with though.

    They are both fine they way they are. Ballista fire and aim faster then trebs, but trebs do more damage and can fire over outer walls to hit the inner walls. There is no need to fix what is not broken.

    A ballista does half as much damage as a treb but fires twice as fast so the overall damage is the pretty much the same. The differences come in when one person is trying to manage multiple siege at the same time. This is where the treb is more beneficial as you can manage more trebs than ballistae at once.

    Also, trebs fire in an arc which allows for the inner walls to be sieged. This can be an advantage but careful positioning of the siege say on higher ground would also allow ballistae to fire on the inner walls.

    Ballistae have more range if on a hill.

    Trebs have double the hp of ballistae which can be of benefit when getting counter-sieged.

    Another consideration is the space required between siege units. Ballistae can be placed very close to each other, which can be an advantage if there is limited ground. And they can be placed on flat parts of hilly terrain much easier too.

    One tactic people use is to place trebs first and then place ballistae between the trebs to maximise space efficiency.

    So, I wouldn't say that one is better than the other. They are situational.
