How would you rate Elder Scrolls Online?

There are many ways that Elder Scrolls Online is an excellent game and so entertaining. I am curious how all of you would rate the game on many points. Please respond to this post with your ratings in the following areas. Please use a 10 point scale with 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest score.

1. Visual Art/Graphics - 10 - This is a visually stunning game. Absolutely beautifully done. The artwork is amazing, and I can only imagine the fun ZOS had putting all of it together.

2. Story Line/Content - 7 - Up until some of the newer DLC's, I would have given this a 10. However, some of the DLC feels a little more like recycled content … "Go back to Stonefalls and do this..."

3. Technical Details - 1 - There are still so many broken things in this game, especially in PVP. Random loading screens, doors that wont work when you need them to the most …. etc.

4. Customer Service - 1 - Automated responses aren't customer service. ZOS is way too secretive about too many details for no apparent reason. They tend to listen to the loudest wheels instead of considering the entire majority. They do little to provide great customer service to the average customer.

    9 overall.

I dont do much PvP, so the game pretty much runs flawlessly for me. The times I have spent in PvP were not perfect, but I am only there for Caltrops...

I do wish they would fix the lag issues, but until they split the PvP skills and eliminate AoE, the calculations are going to be a huge load.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    1. Visual Art/Graphics - 10 - This is a visually stunning game. Absolutely beautifully done. The artwork is amazing, and I can only imagine the fun ZOS had putting all of it together. Agree with you there. Looks amazing.

    2. Story Line/Content - 9 - The summerset storyline is really well done, all DLC's have a really strong core story line to them.
If we are counting content as in Dungeons/ Trials as well then it would be a 10 just because in my experience of playing MMO's this game has the best dungeons by far and well though out and consistent trial releases.

    3. Technical Details - 8 I don't play cyrodiil often, I do however play all PvE content 24/7 and although I may just be lucky I don't have as many issues as people claim to have. Gonna have to say the bandwagon effect has alot to do with peoples perception of bugs. But then I may just be biased due to the type of content I play.

On a side note, please someone try to find a multiplayer game that the community doesn't think is buggy or has server lag etc. It just doesn't happen. Even in DotA 2 (A game that I would claim has the best server performances and fewest bugs possible people still complain about lag and the amount of bugs)

    4. Customer Service - N/A; never needed to contact them so cannot give an opinion

I do thing more categories should be added. As I almost feel I am doing a disservice here, this is by far the game in which I have played and enjoyed the most ever. Played > 5000 hours and don't intend on stopping soon.

    1. Visual Art/Graphics - 10 - I agree entirely with the OP's assessment (based in my case on the PC version with middle-of-the road systems and no enhancements),

    2. Story Line/Content -10 - I find the storyline quests engrossing. Some duplication of themes is inevitable in a game of this size but I don't find them repetitive as such, and they avoid the "kill 10 rats" quests more effectively than a good many MMOs I've played. That would merit a "9" which I've upped to "10" because of the sheer amount of text, lore, and the full voiceover content provided.

    3. Technical Details - 9 - I've really had no significant issues since PC launch but then I don't PvP, do competitive PvE or use addons. I've had a couple of broken quests, one of which I abandoned and retook without any problem completing it and the other was fixed a week after I encountered it. I've really only down-scored it for the launcher which isn't the best I've used although the game itself has performed for me as well as any MMO and better than some.

    4. Customer Service - N/A - Although I'm impressed with the work Gina and Jessica have done consistently over a number of years on the forums, compared to many MMOs where the staff lose interest after a while (or get frightened away!), it isn't really fair for me to score this one as I have never had occasion to submit a ticket. That in itself helps to explain the higher scores above because I just haven't had the sort of problems that some others clearly have had, although I often think that when people have submitted masses of tickets and complain about the responses it tells us more about them than it does about Customer Service or indeed the game itself. A couple of times I have PM'd Gina about something and both times got a helpful and immediate reply, so I'd give Gina a "10" for that  !

the first two are 10s for me the third is about a 4 they really need to optimize this game some more but they refuse to.
and customerservice is a negative 20, their social interaction with the community is trash compared to what it should be. they censor us at every turn with the mods for no reason and really dont chime in with anything helpful. and it takes them days to answer if they see a huge issue arising. so yea their customer service is fricken horrid.

I really like the artstyle and the level design of dlc content is a great improvement compared to the vanilla game. New motifs also look pretty good. And I like that the majority of costumes arent gender-specific.
However, some of the animations look stiff or a bit too silly for the overall aesthetic they are going for and I would like to see more diverse character customization options.

    3. Story Line/Content - 9-10
Well, I'm a huge TES fan, what else can I say.

    5. Technical Details - 1
Sorry, but the amount of bugs, server lag, bots running all over the place and exploiting is just unacceptable.

    1. Visual Art/Graphics - 5 - don't get me wrong it's good for an MMO but I've been a hobbyist modeler for years and a bit of a perfectionist so I can see all the flaws and how basic it actually is(I know it's mostly done like that for performance but still) .

    2. Story Line/Content - 6 - pretty decent story quests but the 1 tam update ruined questing for me.

    3. Technical Details - 3 - lag/bugs/glitches are just too numerous, also the way they set up the combat isn't what i would call good exactly.

    1. Visual Art/Graphics - 6 - Better than average just.. There are better though and remember this game is dated..
    2. Story Line/Content - 7 - Again pretty good in areas abysmal in others though.
    3. Technical Details - 2 - Yeah its really bad.. combats broken, server issues abound, latency, bugs and more..
    4. Support - 8 - Not bad when you actually get their attention..
    5. Getting to Support - 1 - Seriously while support is pretty good when you can get them, this company makes the actual getting to support a freakin nightmare..
    6. Cash shop - 3 - Rather limited and poor compared to other mmorpgs and probably the most expensive i've ever used.

    1. Visual Art/Graphics - 10 - I play with low graphics most of the time and still like it, but I know they are truly astonishing with different settings my PC cannot afford. And I like my characters so much ahah !

    2. Story Line/Content - 9 - the story lines are mostly enjoyable, really subjective this... The new content in general is great! I am especially fan of our now 10 DLC dungeons !!

    3. Technical Details - 5 - The main issue is we lack information, and especially where to find reliable ones! An OFFICIAL GLOSSARY: What are 'melee attacks', 'MMR', etc. etc. officially defined somewhere. Because the forum is A MESS !!!

    4. Customer Service - 5 - Current things (email changes, forum codes, etc.) are done fast! Still, I think there are really few exchanges between Zenimax and the community, which could be improved.
    This game goes to 11.
I'd say General: 14/10. Mostly not to pain Velidreth though...

Visual arts: Probably an 8, there are really really good looking areas. Many dungeons and enclosed spaces are really well made, and newer overland places like alinor or hews bane. Unfortunately a lot of older overland areas are really drab, and for some reason most of the overland is also strangely washed out. Unfortunately I can't overlook it but it has improved dramatically. Second best looking MMO to date.

Storyline/content: 5. Easily the best in any MMO, but its definitely rollercoastery. The main storyline and zone main quests has are always good, (bar ending to summerset) but the sidequests, which I always find the best get samey: bandits/cultists/pirates took over, fix pls. There are exceptions, i.e. southpoint.

They keep a pattern that is glaringly obvious if you completed everything: You go to X place, you get the quest for the area, do it, and its gone with maybe a passing mention at the end. Then there are the wild/dungeon radiant quests which are all basically fetch quests.

It is also way wayy too easy. It is more time waiting to leave combat than killing the mobs. Its not like skyrim where they level with you, but they are few but decently hard hitting and packed with good loot. Nope its packs of 3 every 5 meters.

Technical Details: Like 2/3. PvE is playable fine nearly always he amount of bugs old and new, server lag, PvP problems to the point of unplayability and general update/fix frequency end up with a pathetic feeling game.

Customer service: 5 Can be bad, can be good. Had them fix bank issues and accidental deletion issues immediately, but other times I was asked if I did vMA with someone starting without me, in a single run, and on vet after confirming I got a score and the drop. And occasionally told: Yeah that bugged and we know of it, sucks to be you though.

    1. Visual Art/Graphics - 9 For a MMO the world looks stunning. I do wish there were a few more of this WoW (not the game) moments where you rounded the bend and were like wow that's impressive, scary, awe inspiring, epic, fill you WoW word here. The last time that happened to me was in a delve I found in VVardenfell. I can't remember the name but when I went into this large chamber the moss was glowing, it had flowing waterfalls, lava, the whole enchilada and I was like that was awesome on my 4K monitor. My wife walked by and she's a non game and was like wow that looks cool. We need more of those IMO.

    2. Story Line/Content - 8 I enjoy most of the story lines and there are a lot of them. Are they the best out there, no but like someone else mentioned at least they are not all kill 10 badgers of old.

    3. Technical Details - .7 Other than some issues in PVP land the game generally runs pretty good for me.

    4. Customer Service - 9 I've never had any issues they didn't resolve quickly. I do hate the way when you quite ESO+ they don't have a way to leave feedback right then live every other MMO. You have to read your cancellation email to then get an email address to send your complaints to. Clunky.

    5. Skills and Animations- 6 This is an area where I really wish they would focus some attention on. I mean have you ever used an axe or hammer with sword and board and watched your character thrust with it. It looks ridiculous. A lot of the spells are pretty lackluster (artic wind, force pulse, puncturing strikes, dive, and there are many more). I want to hear and feel the power of magical abilities, I want to feel my weapon hitting it's target (like dizzying swing, etc), and I want a better "feel" and sounds to blocking and parrying. I like that feedback. When I am playing a fighter type those types of sounds and feeling draw me into the fight. There was an older MMO that did the parrying & blocking right which I wont name but fighting players and mobs and hearing the metal on metal ting sound when I parried and hearing the thud of my shield and seeing my character's shield act like it took a blow was awesome.

    6. PVP- 7 It's fun on PC but as an old RVR player I see room for a lot of improvement (not even talking about performance) yet I don't see much out of ZOS on this front.

    7. PVE Content- 6 I'm talking about difficulty, mob types and their abilities, small group friendly (Duos), etc. Sure there is a lot of pve content in the game but is it quality content? In my opinion it's average. I feel ZOS has got a bit better with Summerset with mobs using some CC and other tactics so hopefully this will begin to improve as they go forward.

I'd give it an overall 9/10.

Technical issues I have had, I am not sure how much was ESO and how much was my crappy computer.

Only Issue I do have is with customer service. Only have had one ticket issue - They would not take my money.

None of their suggestions worked. They would not process my CC - or Any CC i have, yet they took paypal just fine - which is tied to the same CC they could not process.

So, I ended up with the solution, and They did not fix the issue.

    I hate the game though.

Visuals: 10, The graphics are second to none, imo, and the animations are even better.

Story: 10, One of the most well-written stories in any MMO.

Technical Details: 5, The game is buggy but it isn't unplayable

Customer Service: 7, Depends on the representative and the issue. Most of the actual representatives are very nice and helpful, but you generally only get real people after the 3rd email or if you have a really personalized issue. All the same, for me the processes have been quick and mostly painless. I would not hesitate to send someone to CS if they have an issue.

    1. Visual Art/Graphics - 10 - Great visuals, even at lower quality.

    2. Story Line/Content - 9 - I love the storylines. The Daedric Wars arc is pretty awesome, done in the right order. I wish that ZOS would let my character be a little more clever as I can often spot certain plot twists coming.

    3. Technical Details - 1- I PVP and PVE regularly. Every single new update seems to bring in new major bugs and/or brings back an old bug that we thought ZOS had fixed. I think its apparent that ZOS struggles with sqaushing bugs and keeping them squashed. Moreover, there are persistent performance issues with PVP that have driven many players away from PVP.

    4. Customer Service - 4 - I usually get decent results from using the Ask For Help option in game, then replying to the email they send me. However, there's a lot ZOS could do better, particularly when it comes to bot reporting and acknowledging bugs.

    1. Personally I give the 10 on this......absolutely agree visually stunning game. The combination of, if you can say- realism to scale and races makes the game much more visually enjoyable for me than the anime or cartoon styles. Unbelievable backdrops in my opinion for all the areas including PvP zones. The itemization is a large part of this with efforts put into the look of the armor and weapons being really nice to not see gigantic weapons floating around and more believable sizes and effects.

    2. This is a 4 at best- it IS recycled content tricking players into redoing things covering huge distances on map as what feels like a way to say "hey, look at what we already did- notice it and if you havent you now have to see it" more than offering "new" content. Cant fault them for being proud of what WAS done in past, but that is not new content.

    3. This gets a 2.....and only because they "pretend" every now and then to care a tiny bit....but not enough to put full time GM rotations in the PvP areas to see bugs and abuses of broken skills first hand to solve problems. This is unbelievable oversight issue that absolutely should be happening every day in PvP. The idea that the police of the game is the average player, who reports to the "professionals" (in heartbreaking details) is again simple trick to make players think they are actively fixing things and working on it without EVER needing to lay out benchmarks for "reported->solved" timelines. As a player you must report to them- they don't acknowledge issues and delay with multiple e-mails about details and eventually the player gives up- never telling or setting timelines means they are in position of 'plausible deniability' when things are bugged for YEARS.

    4. This is a 1....only because they have a 'system' if you would call it that. Here is how it seems to work, hire third party company to 'take reports' then tell them they can forward issues to your staff for fixing. Problem is the third party company looks incompetent if they forward all the issues up- so its in their best interest to NOT send up almost any issues and send out 'canned' responses that clearly never even read the report in the first place. Another 'delay till they give up' tactic employed to be able to say you have customer service when what you actually have is a company financially benefiting from NOT forwarding issues to the people who can fix them. The number of conversations I have had with this company for weeks on end (every response tagged with "solved" even on first acknowledgement message) with no results is staggering. I think this is worst in all games I have ever played, but it wasn't always this way in ESO- the start of game was NOT this way.

    1. 8. I run into random load screens, black silhouttes, and the occasional dip out of the map but otherwise, it's visually beautiful.
    2. 6. It's alright, the voice acting is too redundant and the stories are often not all that compelling.
    3. 5. Long load screens, glitches, and every new content releases breaks more broken stuff
    4. 7. the one time i've dealt with them, I've gotten a quick response for my gold not depositing in the guild bank (see technical details). Otherwise, they seem to completely ignore ESO+ paying bots.

All in all, I'd give the game a 7/10.

Bioshock set a bar so high, no game since its release has ever come close to its "Masterpiece" rating that I've played.

Thus, comparing ESO to Bioshock is like comparing a Twizzler to an ingrown toenail.

    Visual Art/Graphics - 9

    Story Line/Content - 8

Technical Details - 3 - absolutely atrocious. Someone is doing a terribad attempt at improving things, especially in PvP.

Customer Service - 10 - I had an issue with my subscription once. I called support to say I wanted to renew my 6month subscription before my birthday - they took care of it and gave me an extra 2 months for free. Absolutely brilliant service.

This is a fantastic game and IMO the best game on XBOX One up to this point. I have played this game since June 9th 2015 and I am still playing it and logging in almost everyday.

    1. Visual Art/Graphics - 9 - It really is a nice looking game overall. The only issue that keeps it from a 10 from me is some of the older textures. Large objects, (buildings, ground textures, rocks, mountains) and older armors, clothes, weapons, shields. The quality contrast becomes quite pronounced when viewed next to some of the pretty new textures of similar objects introduced with updates.

    2. Story Line/Content - 8 - It's well written enough. I like many of the characters.

    3. Technical Details - 7 - I don't have the frequent issues that many report, but I do get crashes, forced logouts, and other minor issues sometimes. At times a bit too often.

    4. Customer Service - 1 - I've contact support a few times about various issues that others on this forum have posted they have received help, yet I have never been helped. Each time they have told me there is nothing they will do. The last time I contacted them I received a mocking reply, so I feel I am done with that route, unless something extreme happens.

    Average.

Bioshock set a bar so high, no game since its release has ever come close to its "Masterpiece" rating that I've played.

Thus, comparing ESO to Bioshock is like comparing a Twizzler to an ingrown toenail.

    Bioshock is considered a Masterpiece?

I mean, it's no Bloodborne but I guess it's alright?

Tamriel Unlimited was a mistake. One Tamriel was a bigger mistake
