Summerset is awesomeness in atmosphere

Now that been playing Summerset since its launch it has become my favourite zone to just hangout, relax and do random things like fishing. I dont even do fishing normally, but here it feels relaxing. Sound effects, music and the graphical atmosphere is just so beautiful and well made, that it actually gets me into a good mood after some bad day irl. Really nice zone for leveling new characters, to hangout while doing battlegrounds.

Some of the voice acting is really good also, whoever does Valsirenn`s voice sounds like Lady Stark from Game of Thrones. Like anything in audio feels like good quality in Summerset, it has the magical immersion feeling that you are in a fantasy movie. Plus the Psijic skill line is a good way to level new character, since end up going all over the world, opening places, getting shards near the locations and so on, lots of exp stacking up while doing it and it makes it feel more natural, not like "ugh gotta go grind skyshards.." but can do many things at the same time. Psijic skills are cool too by the way, thus many characters gone and going to go through this journey.

Also small functional surprises, like when a new character starts to be full on inventory space (well, atleast a hoarder like me) when doing quests and so on, right then there naturally is a Pack Merchant in front of you after a small delve-like place, was like did someone spy at me and know my inventory was almost full? :p Lots of urns too, have to check all of them, just have to! :D

Cities are well designed, big and layered. Endless beaches. Just need more 3AM beach danceparties.

Forgot if there was an actual point for this post, other than generally appreciating the great detailed work on Summerset. I`ll go back to playing now haha.

I was avoiding Summerset since I only did Auridon over and over again. Kept restarting. Maybe it's time to go and explore now. Thanks for posting will do this once my current quest is complete will go there. :)
Not my quote but I love this saying

If you like Auridon and now got a character you are happy with, then you gonna love exploring Summerset zone for sure, so much to do but easy to just forget what was gonna do and end up doing random things. So much little details, beautiful places and stories. Hope you too enjoy your journey here! :)

auridon is like rural backcountry for Altmer. Its got its quaint charm.

Also abyssal geysers are more fun than the old dolmens, some of the bosses hit with some damage, funny to see sometimes even max players to drop dead from them, or the panicked running around when trying to kite them haha. Especially that one poison aoe turtle-thingy seems to kill people. :p

    Nice pic! :)

I`m currently going around Summerset with a lil bosmer too, 3rd character going through it now.

Todays plan is to do some fishing, dance at the beach, do some under lvl 50 battlegrounds and plenty of Geysers and bosses.. gotta pray the Daedric Prince of RNG to give me nice amounts of mother of Pearls and Psijic motif drops. :p

They've done a fantastic job with all their DLC zones.

I'm just sad we'll never get a Breton DLC zone since all their zones were covered in the base game.

Altmer Geomancy terraforms the land. Id imagine some forms of ward or enchantment cause the weather to maintain perfect form.

It’s stunning, and the quests are great too. The cities are on another league compared to base zones, you actually feel like you are in a city.

I agree. I thought it would be boring and gray like Auridon, but nope.

All those millions of "The castle isn't green glass! Emergency ZOS please change!" and "The mountains don't have snow! Lore breaking!" pre-release threads look a little silly in hindsight.

If Summerset and Auridon went up against each other in a beauty contest, Auridon would run home and cry because it didn't win.

Not to say Auridon isn't beautiful, but Summerset definitely set a new bar on what can be done with the game. It's definitely worth visiting.

I cannot wait to see this new graphical change be applied to:
    -Areas of Skyrim
    -Areas of Black Marsh
    -ELSWEYR

    *clears throat*

    Yea. Elsweyr.

Summerset is gorgeous, true. But Grahtwood.... yep. It's better by far. The first time one of my girls got to Elden Root.... wow. Of course, some of that is because I've been stuck all my life IRL in a desert.

Okay, here's one for the books: my favorite race is Redguard....

The most boring dlc in terms of landscape for me. I hated auridon as well so it is no surprise. I absolutely loved wrothgar and clockwork city though. Especially CWC's atmosphere is very well done. Auridon/SS Isles just feels like the queens gardens. You have the feeling a unicorn could come around the corner any second.

It has a lot of new ideas, like those geysers which i really like. It also looks very beautiful and the game seems more vertical thanks to some (impassible) mountains and flying gryphons. Well to me at least it seemed that way.

Also most of the quests where fun to do, except the pjihic or however you write it questline.

Still, Vvardenfell is still my favorite place to be for PvE.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Oh, I love the Psijic quest line. I finished it on one girl (with help from a friend), won't do it all the way on any others, because with my lag, it's just too hard to deal with the end boss thing. I really love popping a Portal.... always something nice in them!

Meh. Too generic and same-y for me. Too much gray as well. It’s like they took disney world and washed out all the color. I can experience the same single environment in any other fantasy world. All the cities look exactly the same.

The landscape is too uniform for me. I was expecting the same environmental diversity of islands like Hawaii, Indonesia, or Japan. Not just the same forsestd and beaches throughout the entire country.

Artaeum is awesome, and the ceporah tower is more like I expected Summerset to be. But surprise: the Altmer didn’t build it. Because everything the Altmer do has to be “grounded” now. Bleh.

Glad you enjoy it though. I’ll stick to any of the other dlc zones.

Honestly a unicorn would be an improvement. At least it would give the place some personality. When’s the last time we’ve seen a fantasy world use unicorns unironically?

Grahtwood was pretty good. The bosmer at least feel somewhat unique and inspired, and not just generic, snobby humans with pointy ears like the Altmer. Isn’t it ironic that the most “elven” elves of all are so human-like?

Redguards are cool too, but that’s mostly because they’re inspired by a part of the world we rarely see in fantasy (the MENA region). I do think they feel a little too middle eastern and not as African as their initial descriptions and concept art suggested, but that’s just me.

Honestly, I feel like as this game has gone on, MOST of the races have gotten more interesting...except the Altmer, who they insist on making as tame and normal as possible. It’s honestly pretty weird.

No one is saying there aren't multiple interpretations of the lore, and we're not arguing that ESO did it "wrong".

We're arguing that they decided to go for the most boring, mundane, seen-before interpretation possible. Like they almost always do, unless they can ride on the coat-tails of past games.
