Can we have an option to hide shoulders on outfits?

I'd personally like a toggle for the shoulders and the belt buckle, because those are the two slots most likely to clip, float or be otherwise incongruous with larger armor pieces and they limit which styles you can work with in those slots outside the same motif or style. Hands, feet, chests, and legs don't have that issue with anywhere near the same frequency.

But there's a segment of 'all or nothing!' arguments and if it came down to that I'd stick with nothing changing from the way things are now. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a few wants to avoid enabling a slippery slope.

Shoulders and hips! My hip guards are floating in the air several inches away from my hips, and they look ridiculous.

So agree on this. Maddening this option wasn't available from the get go.

Yesterday been questing in Alik'r and thought it would be nice to hide just my armor, you know for rp purposes. It's hot out there, you know. So, yes! Hiding any part of outfit would be nice.

I agree with you, we need an option allowing us to hide outfit shoulders. And yes, I hope they will rework every type of clothes and armor, getting rid of that ugly floating hips. To be honest, I completely disagree with the idea of decorating hips at every costume.

Might as well have the option to hide every slot.

You do know that exposed skin in the desert is an extremely bad idea, yes?

There is a reason Middle Eastern people wear mostly robes

But what will hold up my epaulets or pauldrons?

No shoulders would make that hard.

They really should make an invisible style added for free for the outfit station, and allow any part of an outif to be clear.
I would agree with that one... no surprise there, considering I said it before: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/5325973#Comment_5325973 ;)
The most reasonable thing we can expect...
...is for them to sell "invisible armor" motiv pages in the crown store.

I mean, the suits in charge certainly won't send a code-jockey to spend their paid time programming the hide function for all outfit slots without wanting to see some profit, right?

But selling people the option... that would appeal to their shriveled greedy little hearts, right? :p;)

As for the lore... well, I already said it. "Invisible Armor". Enchanting your sturdy armor with an invisibility spell, to lure your foe into a false sense of security...
I mean, look at this guy:
    Sai_Sahan.png
So, who knows? Maybe someday they will add "invisible armor" motiv options in the crown store, more likely then not in crown crates I reckon... but maybe they will be mercyful and do it like the special weapon style packs. I mean, if we can buy extra nifty weapons, why not extra invisible armor pieces?

Glass Epaulets, that is what I use with my outfit.

I am assuming the way the hide helm option works, is if you have the box checked, tells the client not to show a texture/skin for the helm. The helm model is still there but is transparent. So it would probably not be difficult to add the option to hide other equipment slots from a programming perspective being that is how the hide helm option works. Just use the same code for the other equipment slot ID's to not show the associated texture/skins. But then some people would probably complain that is is lore breaking when a person is running a vet dungeon wearing nothing but underwear because they hid all their equipment slots. You can get pretty close to that look with the Nordic Bathers Towel though.

Well the trade off is looking "good" versus advanced tactical play in PVP being able to identity key aspects of your opponent. e.g. opponent weaingTroll King vs Valkyn. Stuff like that can matter. On possibility would be to have zero hiding in PVP, you look what you wear, and then allowing for full customization of the look in PVE.

That kind of stuff doesn't matter, and hasn't ever since the dawn of costumes and disguises

Hide shoulders should have been an option when the outfit stations initially came in.

Fortunately this will not happen and is the reason Zos will not to pastbthe customary hide helmet.

That'll be 750 crowns for each slot, Separate character unlock.

I think currently ZOS is afraid that players won't do full-armored appearances anymore if they have more hidden slot options beyond helmets. Most players probably wouldn't hide that many of their slots for outfits anyway as collecting appearances is always a big thing in MMOs with transmog-type systems.

I don't think ZOS will necessarily resist implementing additional hidden slot options forever, but I think they'll put off doing it for as long as possible.

Shoulders are, for the most part, hideously ugly, in the opinion of a large fraction of players. ZoS obviously wants them this way, either out of a weird aesthetic or to help sell more costumes.

So just like with vampirism -- no, I don't think ZoS will give us any relief for our characters' appearance.
