Going by the tooltip, it absolutely shouldn't apply, but I was wrong about Elfbane not working on it either.

Someone has to have tried it.

    No it's not a cast ability ...

Zaan should get a buff from elf bane as it's fire damage but I've not tested.

It's not a channelled nor cast time ability, so it shouldn't.

Yeah, this tracks for me too, but I haven't tested soulshine.

Without going in game and proccing the set to make sure, I want to say it's technically a buff/debuff. So, not a channel.

Spell damage doesn't effect procs, so even if it "applies," it has no effect.

Zaan is a set, and sets do not scale to spell damage etc

    sets are considered abilities

    Zaan is not a channel

Yeah, Elf Bane 100% apply the buff, still not sure about Soulshine tho, 70% sure it doesn't

It it was a channel, it wouldn't work with Elf Bane. The entire reason that set works the way it does is because Elf Bane extends the duration of flame abilities. It doesn't modify the damage of those abilities. Zaan scales up over time, and that's uncapped, so when the duration is extended, it ticks for more than was previously possible. But, that's part of the Zaan effect. At the same time, something like Silks of the Sun does nothing to Zaan. If something gives +X% damage to flame abilities, that would also scale Zaan. For instance, on a Dark Elf, or via champion points (and this will show up ont he tooltip.) Something that adds spell damage will not, however. That bonus will show up on your equipped skills (as I recall), but it won't affect proc sets, as @Waffennacht pointed out.
