Chromium Grains? Finally!

Finally got one (1) Chromium Grain as a reward for a jewelcrafting daily... 2018/08/18... and it wasn't even on my "maxed" jewelcrafter.

I have been doing writs daily on 12 characters since Jewelcrafting was released. This is the first (and so far only) Chromium Grain I have seen in this context.

For a while there it appeared to be imaginary. At least now I know it can actually happen. But I think it is somewhat ridiculous that it has (and apparently remains) a "virtually never" sort of event. Completely out of balance relative to Blacksmithing/Clothing/Woodworking.

Yep, they are dropping a bit more frequently from writs after the last update, but not nearly at a high enough rate to make much of a difference yet. By far the most Chromium Grains I have received has been from refining raw ore.

I dunno, I have had three drop so far from writs on six toons where only two are max. One came from a base level writ and the others from max writs. Seems swell to me. If only they could increase the value of master writs to where they’re actually worth it.

    Indeed :)
I got one too today B)
It can drop as a reward from the completion of Jewelry crafting writ since update 19:
Jewelry Crafting Writs will no longer reward Terne, Iridium, or Zircon Grains. They will now only reward Chromium Grains, with the chance to obtain a Grain increasing with the rank of the Jewelry Crafting writ completed, similar to other durable trade skill writ rewards.

Some videos I recorded for fun: Main character:
PC EU main: Universe - AD magicka Sorcerer, Former Emperor, Grand Overlord, The Merciless, Trial Bosses Solo Champion
Top alts: Genius(stamina/sagicka Dragonknight) The Force(stamina Nightblade) and other chars.
PC NA main: The Magic - AD magicka Sorcerer
Started playing ESO in beta & early access

... though you still need 10 grains for one plating.

They have reduced the number of higher-end platings required to upgrade an accessory (yellow/legendary/chromium requirements have been halved), but that still nets out to 5x the volume of resources (which, as documented above, drop at same rate in all durable trade skill activity) required to upgrade to legendary relative to the other durable trade skills (blacksmithing/clothing/woodworking).

Granted, you need a maximum of 3 accessories to dress a character, versus up to 7 pieces of clothing (light/medium) or 9 pieces of blacksmithing (heavy and weapons)... but you can only use a maximum of 2 pieces of woodworking on a character, at any given moment. And still no hireling, most trait items come from "unusual" sources (i.e. not obtainable by gathering/refining raw materials or deconstructing accessories that drop in solo PvE content)... Jewelcrafting balance still seems a bit off.

But every little bit helps. I will watch for more grains from dailies.

I got 32 in 4 days, so yes I would think its a lot better now compared to the 2 I had in 900 writs
