Zos, plz add an Hide tabard option

There you go, the title says it all! Most of the time, tabards is not there to be pretty, it's there so that other people know in what guild you are. In PvP especially, it's really nice.
They've added the awesome outfit system where you can make super cool looking toons... and then it's ruined by tabards
I even had one where I tried to make all the colors fit, but on the side of the tabard (where it's open) it would just blacken it entirely.

You've made hide helmet at day 1, why is hide tabard not a thing yet

One of the few posts I can get behind on this otherwise fairly sad forum full of people wanting free handouts - I agree, it would be nice to both display your character and the work you've put into unlocking colors and motifs and your primary guild tag without having to visually see the tabbard. Nothing needs to be done but to add the option to hide tabbard like everything else that can be hidden.

How about not mocking people who have a differing opinion of you. Was it really needed in this thread? This speaks more of you than people wanting free handouts.

What is a tabard? I never done PvP so not sure what these are and how they look.

It would be better to have a 'display guild name' option in with the title interface, so you'd only need the tabard if it looked stylish and you were really keen to rep your guild.

Then you also lose the ability to display your guild tag. My assumption is that the player would like to both show their guild tag of choice as well as their outfitter creation, which seems reasonable.

The point is that there is no reason you should have to choose between using the outfit system and displaying your guild tag. Obviously most of us are currently choosing the former over the latter, but the choice shouldn't exist in the first place.

Maybe people like representing their guilds... But dont want to use the outdated tabard system, when was last time it was added to or updated?

It's not simply a costume piece--it's currently the only way to display a guild tag.

This is what I have to do on most toons, but I'd like people to know which guild they are fighting and vice versa.
Ofc, if you never turned nameplates on, you probably don't even know about Guild tags.

This person had to give a dig at people asking for free hand outs when it wasn't needed. This person just said it for the sake of nocking some people down. It didn't even apply to the question asked in the thread. Why say "people wanting free handouts"? It doesn't add anything except trying to shame.

It is unfortunate. I side with representing my guild while wearing a costume but I'd really like an option to do outfits and not have it covered but still able to rep my guild. You think this would be something ZoS would want to implement since it would get more people participating in this gold sink. But I guess at the same time it would take people out of the crown store looking for costumes.

This person just started visiting this particular forum regularly and has been overwhelmed by the amount of posts asking to make things easier, making free loot easier, asking for absurd concessions to in-game systems, and quite honestly an overall complete and total disconnect with the reality of developer intent and actionable game improvements. So while it may not add anything to your thread-reading experience, it was quite nice to finally see a relatively easy to implement, reasonable request for a game improvement.

Exactly. It is a nice reasonable request. The "free handounts" never needed to be said. What was the purpose of saying so in the first place? So if anyone derailed the thread that would be it, other wise we wouldn't be having this discussion.

That said, I am sorry to the original poster Raknosh. Was in not a great mood and just felt I need to make a comment like the poster did. I am very sorry for derailing your post. Please forgive me. So much agree Rak. I've made outfits for every one of my characters, its a shame I cant proudly display my guild name bc I've chosen to not wear a costume or normal armor. Tis a simple request that I think is way overdue.

you dont need it as its in the game to show whos guild your with youve got to have the tabard if you dont like it dont wear it. have some pride for your guild. how many more of these threads do we need.

wish theyd start auto locking them if another one exists. theres no point to this their never going to change it dont wear the tabard if you dont want it showing simple. if you have pride for your guild wear the tabard choose one or the other you cant have both.

I have pride in my guild. I would rather guild members show off their cool outfits they've spent time making while also showing our guild tag than having to put a tabbard on just to show it. as of now the best i can do is just make it neutral colors so it doesn't interfere as much, so black/grey/white tabard for the time being.

I'd worry that if they added this functionality they would somehow introduce a bug that removes you from the guild instead of hiding the tabard.

Not everyone in the guild wants their armor dictated by the tabbard, and not everyone wants to take the time to gather motifs and pay to create new outfits only to have to choose between covering it all up and displaying a guild tag, ever thought of that? it'd be easy to add the option to hide it.

you would also think that the creative team wouldn't want to make all these art assets just to cover them up, either.

Thinking something will never change is exactly how things don't change. You don't have a clue how this system works do you? The more we use our voice, the more likely they are to hear us. 4.5 years of being on these forums I've seen exactly that happen.

If it isn't something you want, that's fine but there are plenty of us who would love to show off the outfits we've spent upwards of 15-20k gold on making whilst also showin our love for our guilds. Tabbards are hidden by costumes, there's no reason they cant be hidden with outfits/armor as well.

Keep makin the threads, keep letting your voices be heard!! That's how you accomplish things in this world!

Yes, I did thought of that actually and this is the result I was trying to explain in my original post.



I'm not sure why you argue so hard against it. It's clearly not a hard thing to implement, it's already been done with helmet, and as someone mentioned earlier, it's already done with costumes aswell...
