about the twitch drops (over-a-weekend ones)

When they were first introduced, we were getting up to 3 crates for one twitch broadcast we watched. More if we watched more people.
But now, for the last two (I think) times the drops were active for ESO, it's one crate no matter how much you watch. My friend and I spent both said weekends watching twitch broadcasts of other players. She got 2 crates, I got 1. For numerous twitch lives that we've been watching almost 24/7.
My other friend who hasn't been watching at all, also got one drop crate.

How does this drops thing work? Has anyone been having another (better or worse) experience with this in those two recent times drops were active? I just want to understand.

They can change the drops whenever they want. They can make them say you need to watch for X time, they can make it a for sure after X time or they can make it a chance based on.. well, anything.

They've been playing with these for awhile. Originally you were sure to get one it seems, as long as you watched enough. Not this weekend, but the previous ESO Stream Team only ones, it was mentioned viewers would have a chance to get one. So until they iron out how they use them... it could be different every time.

[EDIT] I've personally left feedback that constantly changing them is confusing for everyone, and it's never been spelled out how they work, so it creates even more confusion. Hopefully they eventually decide on something and stick to it... and let us know how they work.

It's soooo frustrating though! Watching all weekend and getting just one. And people who don't bother watching anything also get one. Why watching and participating if we get one anyhow and chances for more are slim to non-existent?
    Why, ZOS?

I watched streams all weekend, got 3 crates. Not only one.
And the additional 5 from the QuakeCon keynote just arrived as well. :|

Yes, I got those 5 from Bethesda's twitch thing, too. My concern is that I don't understand how normal twitch drops work.
At first, we were supposed to get our drops from a twitch once that particular stream was over. Now, we seem to only get that crate after the whole event is over. And no one warned us about those rules.
I just wish they made things clear already.
