I just recently moved over from xbox in april. In the beginning i was not having it tbh but that's more so because i was max cp and played since console launch.
Now i still haven't totally switched over to Key and mouse so i'm still using controller. Most of the addons like Master merchant, Awesome guild store, dressing room to name a few they don't show until you turn game pad mode off.
The addons aren't made for the controller screen layout so it seems. Yes map pins, lore books, skyshards work and i love it haha but there are quite a few like i said that don't work.
The choice is yours really if you want to move over to pc or not. I don't regret my decision regardless of the time and money i spent on xbox. I don't know if i see addons on console anytime soon seeing how we have been waiting to hear word since 2015. But i also don't think that's ZOS decision either, with how strict MS and Sony are with the certification process.
Before anyone mentions that Xbox is allowing addons per the article that was written a few months back. They never specified for what game, i'd like to see it on console and have been waiting all these years but the addons have updates. Which i'm going to assume will still need to go through certification. I can't see sony and ms just allowing a third party addon dev push updates without their approval.
Anyways that is more then i intended to write lmao.

Mainly due to the fact that mods aren't a huge aspect of the game and aren't really suported by the devs. As you said mods are just some quality of life improvements, slight alterations to the ui to streamline your gaming experience.
Nothing like Skyrim, where mods were what kept the game alive for years and years. Also with Skyrim the devs supported modders from the start. And even then it took ages for mods to be easily accessible on console.
One of the reasons I play console is because the add-ons make the game less of a game.
Go play PC if you want the game to play itself.
based on my knowledge addon system is fully ready to work on console. The only thing that's preventing it from happening is console policy from your vendor. I.E. Microsoft/Sony
so you are on the wrong forum for this matter.

Not quite true.
Sure, no third party add-ons.
But.....
There is nothing to stop ZoS creating their own variants of some of the favourites and adding them to the base download.
I doubt you'd get anything like the merchant ones, those that post info to a third party site but things like combat statistics is perfectly feasible.

thats true i did the same plugged my controller into the PC. Hard to get used to the keyboard and the mouse. What level were you when you switched? Summerset is on sale thats why i was thinking about it.

This...People need to stop wasting their time asking for addons for consoles here. ZOS has no control over allowing addons on console. You need to start spamming $ony and Micro$oft about that. One of the reasons I play console is because the add-ons make the game less of a game.

And here is someone confusing addons with cheats and macros. Addons are only informative. They tell you where your objective is. YOU still need to go there yourself.

And harvest map, what you wanted to farm that area, well don't because every single (not literal) player has already taken every single last scrap.

The devs know and understand and sympathize with the plight of the console UI. They want to overhaul it. The purse string holders just need to hire or free up resources so they can do something about it.
