Add-ons for console?

Before the hate read my thoughts.

Just curious if you all think it may come or should i give up hope?

I made the mistake of playing on Xbox, only because family and friends play the game on it. I am only cp240ish so might not be a big deal to switch over. I love the QOL on the PC, it makes things so much better. Instead of printing out the skyshards/lore book locations its on the map. The master merchant also is a big plus, also so much more that makes game better the auto writ crafter. I have played PC for like 10mins of the game just to see what i was missing. I couldnt pull the trigger i felt i worked hard to get to 240, but its a pain to keep looking at phone for info. have to pull up prices on the phone so i can sell or buy items.

So before the post saying NO we shouldnt get them, I never use them and i play on PC or it will ruin the game, here are some facts.

checked right before this post here are the downloads.
Master merchant-1.4 mil
awesome guild store-1.3
writ crafter-1.2
harvest map-3.2
lore books-4.6
skyshards-4.6

Now all the millions of downloads and the game still is good. Either that or you just love to torture yourself by playing it.

So my question again am i wasting my time hoping for add-ons, and should jump to PC?
Also for those that play on PC is it worth coming to beside the add-ons?

I played on Xbox and I am on PC now. Real reason for PC play was because I wanted a mini map. Now I see the other benefits of being on PC. Also I have my Xbox One controller playing on PC. Also it looks like Xbox version (or is that console version) so it was very easy for me to adjust.

I say if you already have the PC version go there like I did. If not, then you will have to see if buying all over again is worth it. Sometimes starting over has it's benefits as well as it's negatives.

thats true i did the same plugged my controller into the PC. Hard to get used to the keyboard and the mouse. What level were you when you switched? Summerset is on sale thats why i was thinking about it.

I just recently moved over from xbox in april. In the beginning i was not having it tbh but that's more so because i was max cp and played since console launch.

Now i still haven't totally switched over to Key and mouse so i'm still using controller. Most of the addons like Master merchant, Awesome guild store, dressing room to name a few they don't show until you turn game pad mode off.

The addons aren't made for the controller screen layout so it seems. Yes map pins, lore books, skyshards work and i love it haha but there are quite a few like i said that don't work.

The choice is yours really if you want to move over to pc or not. I don't regret my decision regardless of the time and money i spent on xbox. I don't know if i see addons on console anytime soon seeing how we have been waiting to hear word since 2015. But i also don't think that's ZOS decision either, with how strict MS and Sony are with the certification process.

Before anyone mentions that Xbox is allowing addons per the article that was written a few months back. They never specified for what game, i'd like to see it on console and have been waiting all these years but the addons have updates. Which i'm going to assume will still need to go through certification. I can't see sony and ms just allowing a third party addon dev push updates without their approval.

Anyways that is more then i intended to write lmao.

Personally I don't think mods will ever make it to console. Mainly due to the fact that mods aren't a huge aspect of the game and aren't really suported by the devs. As you said mods are just some quality of life improvements, slight alterations to the ui to streamline your gaming experience.

Nothing like Skyrim, where mods were what kept the game alive for years and years. Also with Skyrim the devs supported modders from the start. And even then it took ages for mods to be easily accessible on console.

based on my knowledge addon system is fully ready to work on console. The only thing that's preventing it from happening is console policy from your vendor. I.E. Microsoft/Sony

so you are on the wrong forum for this matter.

One of the reasons I play console is because the add-ons make the game less of a game.

Go play PC if you want the game to play itself.

that makes sense, i wish they would either but the addon or make it part of game even just the little stuff to make it better.

hmmmm i mean aside from lazy crafting addons (which i don't use), mini map and some trials with raid notifier. Addons don't really make a huge difference to game play. You can choose to not use the addons they aren't a big deal.

Performance wise hands down PC runs a lot smoother, still has the same disconnects and stuff but quality is better. Addons are nice but it doesn't take too much away.

    Not quite true.

    Sure, no third party add-ons.

    But.....

There is nothing to stop ZoS creating their own variants of some of the favourites and adding them to the base download.

I doubt you'd get anything like the merchant ones, those that post info to a third party site but things like combat statistics is perfectly feasible.

The devs know and understand and sympathize with the plight of the console UI. They want to overhaul it. The purse string holders just need to hire or free up resources so they can do something about it.

i agree with this, it should be a minor patch to make stuff appear on the map. I just wish ZOS would come out and say yes or no. This way this conversation will be done forever.

What i mean by addons is ZOS or whoever can put this into the game. We dont need 3rd party addon (would be nice) but just few little things to make it better.

Search box for the traders. Not all of them just the one you are at, then jump to the next like we do now. Just have a search option and not scroll through 8 pages of things you dont need.

The lorebooks/skyshards on the map. They can make this happen as well not just a 3rd party.

Some things yes could be hard to put into the game.

I know some people want everything, but really i would say 99% of console players just want basic QOL improvements.Just the 2 i mentioned above would be HUGE for us.

I think im going to get the summerset game while on sale and just transition over. Post above is right we have been waiting since 2015 for somethings.

I can guarantee that console will never get addons. Sony outright refuses to allow anything of the sort, and without 1/2 of the console audience on board it wont be worth the effort to create a system to make it work.

If you want addons, play PC..

As a matter of fact, even if you don't care about addons you should still play PC.

Personally one of the better things about Xbox is lack of add on glitter and crap. We all play the same game.
Make it base game or not at all. And Ig go off things if we had all the combat prompts most pc players have

I don't think that we'll ever get 3rdParty add-ons. However, I wish/hope the developers would take note of the most popular add-ons and put something similar into the base game... If over a million users have installed it, then it's something the community uses/wants.

PS. I never miss an opportunity to ask/beg for the ability to save gear and set combos on console (i.e. "Changing Room"). Please.

It's all just personal opinion and personal choice. You can ask for advice and be given thousands of differring opinions and viewpoints. When all is said and done it's still YOU who has to make the decision! You will always get conflicting opinions on this subject, some will say PC is better, others will say console is better and that either Xbox or PlayStation is the better console. Then you have those who say addons are great and improve the game as opposed to those who say addons are bad and ruin the game. *shrug*

But to put it in a simple way, if you want to use addons then you have to play on PC, because addons won't be available on consoles any time soon!

It was around level 30 or 40. My problem was I kept doing what I did in a TES game and keep restarting. I didn't know I could respect later. I could have had a max character by now. Sadly I did that to PC. I finally have a CP 100 character on PC. Tried to go back to Xbox but with no ESO+ hard to play the game with no loot bag lol.

Master merchant ruined the economy on pc, good look selling anything, because somebody somewhere has undercutted every single player in the game. Every item quickly becomes worthless.

And harvest map, what you wanted to farm that area, well don't because every single (not literal) player has already taken every single last scrap.

Pretty easy making gold in the game, via trading, your comment would only be valid for casuals and wildly innacurate to any half decent trader sorry not sorry.

And there are plenty of mats at any time, so again innacurate crap.

And cheat codes? really, only addon that is a cheat is the Miats rubbish.

Keep checking your phone for stuff that should have been in the base game from day one but the devs were too lazy to put common sense qol "addons" in.

You have absolutely no idea what addons are or what they do in reality and on PC you seem wildly innacurate to a laughably extreme level.

    pretty much this.

Look up sony's views on console modding. we can only dl 100 mods and only have up to 800 mb of mod space, no custom scripting and only in-game assets.

sony fears too much about being hacked again. skyim almost didn't get mods on ps4.

You mean those cheat codes that tell you where everything is

Ore, timber, plants, etc respawn within a few minutes usually, I'm always able to find plenty to harvest and there have been many times where I've gone through a small area, farmed a few things, turned around and some of the things I've farmed have already respawned!

As for "cheat codes that tell you where everything is" that information is freely available on websites, so those addons are merely providing that information in a much easier to use format that doesn't require constant ALT-Tabbing or checking your smart phone!

All this hate for addons is just plain stupid and somewhat immature. If you don't like addons then just don't use them, it's that simple. But making these sorts of wildly inaccurate, ill-informed comments really isn't helping anyone, least of all yourself!

Oh, before I forget, the game now includes a number of quality of life improvements that were originally only available via addons! So if you hate addons so much you'd better quit the game completely because you're now playing a game that includes a number of addons by default!

Let's also not forget that Elder Scrolls games plus addons is pretty much a standard. There are those who believe that without addons the games would never have been as popular as they are!

I know it would take a miracle to get addons, but again not saying we want mods, or addons. We just want some of the addon to make it into the game. With a patch how they do the DLC, or how they did with some previous addons. The was a time the console had nothing, but some of the PC addons did make it into the game. So it can be done, just by making it apart of the main game, not a 3rd party.

After years, searching for something like a motif takes so much time that it is downright disrespectful to every console owner’s time. Sympathize doesn’t cut it. It needs to be agitated for internally or the dev team is remiss. Simple as that.
