Lorebooks suggestion: Make it account wide or able to use the 2nd printouts from homes

Hi,

As the title says it would be nice if we had lorebooks (from mages guild only) becoming account based or to be able to use 2nd printouts at homes for the actual experience for mages guild skill line, honestly it is taking quite long, and it is boring doing it for more than 1-3 times, also our counterpart fighters guild is relatively easier to level as you just need to go to alikr and do dolmen runs to max it.
What are your feelings about it? Pls share it below.

I advocate for console players to have books marked on the map, but that’s it

I say no. At the heart this game is an RPG and its part of character development to search out these books or not. At best, having it marked on your map account wide for your other characters would be a compromise I might be able to get behind.

Marked on the map account-wise after you find it the first time would be a great quality of life addition.

    no.

shared bank space is ok, as is housing.

nothing else should be account wide.

Can we also have Undaunted, Fighters Guild, Thieves Guild, Brotherhood, Psijic, Assault, Support, Two Handed, One Hand and Shield, Dual Wield, Destruction Staff, Restoration Staff, I was going to list every skill line but didn't have the willpower.

Short answer, no. Why should character skills be account wide? If I level Destro on one character should all my characters see the benefits?

If you don't want to collect all the books, don't.

"But I want mages guild 10."

So you want the reward without the effort. Just be honest about it.

Ah, is it that time of the month again? The time when the gimme crowd crawls out from their basement and tried to argue themselves account wide stuff because they feel its easier to complain then to play the game?
    327.gif
    :p;)

Yeah, we have all seen those threads before. "It is boring to do" they say, "I already did it on my main" they say, and then want to get it without having to do it for their next character.
And lorebooks... which by extension means, maxed mages guild... asking for game-effecting benefits without putting in the effort.
Next they will ask for every new alt starting at level 50 with all the quests already done because "It would be boring to do them once again", and all skills maxed because "it would be boring to grind to raise them again" and all achievements account wide because "it would be boring to do them all over again" and all riding training account wide "because it would be boring to do it again" and maxed thieves guild for all alts "because it would be boring to do it over again" and same for DB, and for Psijic, and... and...
Indeed, we have all seen these discussions before.

The point is, if its too boring, then do without on this or that alt.
And if you want it enough, you will do it on those alts you really want it for, even if its a bit boring.

(also, lorebook locations can be looked up online, I recall there are guides for that sort of thing... thus it ends up being at worst a minor annoyance for those who really don't like exploring for such things)

ESO already has more account wide stuff then eny other MMORPG I played (granted, I did not play all that many), so I always feel it somewhat galling when people ask for yet more seeminglky out of a sheer overinflated sense of entitelement...

Mages Guild lore books, erm no, I don't think it should be account wide.

    On the other hand;

Eidetic memory should be account wide, imho.

Eidetic memory is approaching 4000 books, brochures, pamphlets, motifs and letters to collect now. Some are impossible to collect unless your character is Daggerfall Covenant and can access the main DC camp in Cyrodiil. (Until ZOS fixes it like they did for AD and EP books. ZOS drags it's feet on these things.) The books in imperial city are hard to locate as they move around daily and one of the eidetic memory items is in a hard-mode, veteran craglorn trial.

And of course, every new DLC, expansion or new motif collection adds more to eidetic memory.

I would say no too, but the idea of the library books in your house being of some use does sound interesting. Never going to happen but would it be reasonable that if you read the entire set in your house that you got to learn one random book from the collection?

I agree with the library idea for non-Mages Guild books. Although I would imagine difficult to code, it would be good to be able to purchase a bookcase for every 250 books for your house so you could effectively build a library room with a couple of Chesterfield sofa's, a drinks cupboard and a roaring open fire with Stibbons bringing you Nix-Ox jerky and the occasional pitcher of grog from Blackheart Haven.

I disagree with "account wide" - though I really -could- see them bring something for the matter. But, just like with riding training, I reckon IF they were to do somesuch, it will be crown store powered "convenience item". Like... a collection volume for every eidetic memory book category? Pay your crowns, use that comsumable, gain those books for EM...

I have been saying it for a while now... that they ought to give ALL bookceses an "inventory" where you can place a pile of furniture books (and possibly other bookcase-able trinkets, like skills, scrolls, small hourglasses or potion bottles, etc, for visual fun), then place the "filled" bookcase as -one- furniture item, and have it automatically display all the books it contains in a way that you can select the bookspines for individual interaction.
Would make building a wizards library room -way- more fun and way less of a hassle...

Why disagree with account wide for EM though? It is not like riding training at all, it gives no in game achievements, nothing but knowing you read the book. And making it account wide would remove the limitations that quests cause with not being able to go back and find a book you missed. Not all quest locked books are placed outside the locked door after you finish the quest.

...because while my "librarian" character may read every book he comes across, many of my alts couldn't care less about the books. Just like my "honest" characters will never go for the TG or DB stopryline, or my "warrior" characters will never do the psijic questline, and so on.
They are all different -characters- after all.

And as I keep saying, ESO already has more account wide stuff then any other MMORPG I played, so I really don't see any need for yet more.
    Runs wrote: »

...and changing -that- would be a discussion worth having, and one where I'd agree.
People should -always- have the chance to make up for passed by readings, quest-locked areas or not.

I myself have just 100 EM missing on the main, some impossible for me to get due to them not being in game or being capped under the ground like Hlaalu Merchant camp note in Deshaan for example, it has been like that for more than 2 years I think and they never fixed that.

The obvious answer is yes. Every character should have the same skills/experiences, barring class and racial unless the same, that the others have because 1 of them did it already. (sarcasm)
