Invisible players

I've seen a few threads about it but witnessed it a couple of nights now. Players (non-NB lol) disappearing in an odd manner. Not invis pots - you cant reveal them, cant target them when they blink in and out. Its like its a bug / lag but last night the player clearly knew something was going on as was walking about amongst a big group of enemy players pretty calmly.

Could be lag. But curious how many of us have seen it - i'm Xbox EU FYI.

@Tasear for me it was a sorc (presumably mag) with an inferno staff on capture the relic in Mor Kazgur (or whatever that orc themed Battleground is called). That guy was even invisible while carrying the relic!

Of course I reported the issue.

This happened to me, last week in Cyro. I was killed, and when I rezzed at the keep, I was invisible.

Went on to take a resource with a group and was thinking "haha, cool! a riderless horse!! I'm a ghost!"

Of course, idiot that I am, I didn't consider I could actually use it to my advantage.

As I recall, I crashed not too long after and went back to normal.

It happened to me last night in the public dungeon in Bangkorai. I was blinking, flashing in and out and got killed by a crap mob. Resurrected and was invisible. Ported home and was good again.

Yup I've seen this a couple times on various classes. Had a dk challenge me to a duel and as soon as it started he was blinking in and out of existence, so I ended up just standing there and let him kill me since you can't really fight back against something you can't see or target.

hi @Tasear for me it was near Sejanus, and they had a inferno destro. Xbox EU

I've heard others say they have seen it too.

ALSO - more feedback relate to this but on reporting / flaggg - its hard to report on xbox. It would be good if you could hold down a button or something and report player from the console. You basically have to take down their GT, then go into Help and type out a ticket and get their name right. Just a bit annoying.

Report via text chat would also be good.

PC/NA Had something like this happen last night trying to take Sej. I was taking damage from an unseen source. Thought I was getting hit from above, but every time I looked up, no one was aiming at me. I streaked out of range and it got quiet for a few moments. Then I started getting hit again.

Someone blinked into view in front of me long enough to see that they were dual-wielding, but then disappeared again. Threw up a few defense bashes and tried to streak through where I thought they were. I thought they ran off because I stopped getting hit (maybe I actually stunned them?). When I went back in range of Sej I started getting hit again, but still couldn’t see the source. Another player in my faction lept into me with a Lotus Fan and started attacking something right next to me. Moments later the dead body of my attacker appeared at my feet.

I couldn’t see them, but someone else obviously could.

@Tasear Unfortunately I can't exactly give more information than that, other than the name of the player (who I put on my block list, originally thinking the guy was exploiting intentionally).
I asked the other teams about that player and while the third team could see him fine, it couldn't be determined whether his own team could see him or not as they said "Yeah I noticed he was doing well, since he had the best score, but he wasn't running with the rest of us and we weren't paying a lot of attention to him." It's possible that he was invisible to his team too and I just happened to be talking to the guy that wasn't with him when he and two others captured the "invisible relic".

When I got matched with the same guy later and he didn't turn invisible and I realized that he probably wasn't doing it on purpose.

I don't have a screenshot (as my updated antivirus prevented ESO from creating new files), but I can describe what it looked like.
All skill animations of his and the glow of the relic were still normal. You could tell where he was simply by looking for the inferno staff attacks charging up. We couldn't bash him (or perhaps we just missed?). I can't remember whether biting jabs made the proper noise for successful hits on him, but I think it did. It's possible that talons were invisible too whenever he got hit, but we could also have missed those. I am not sure what else I can discribe as there really wasn't much going on. Nameplate was obviously invisible and we had to determine his identity through the scoreboard and which red player we never encountered despite him damaging us.

sometimes one of you is in the wrong instance of a certain zone. Travelling out and back into the zone usually fixes the problem. Has happened to guys in my group before

This has happened to me also in Bgs. Last night of mayham the purple and green teams were just phasing in and out. Like Z fighters style lol. Couldn't target nor do damage. My whole team experience the same thing to where we just waiting on the platform for the match to end. Even put it in Zone chat to see if the other teams were noticing things weren't right. They kept the onslaught going. Hope Zos fixes this. Haven't done Bgs since.

I've seen it a few times and it's happened to me as well. All instances were in Cyrodiil.

Felt kinda guilty but bombed a group while invised, kinda hard to resist.

@Tasear I've seen it happen dozens of times in PvP, usually right after a group has relogged after a crash. Those who crashed generally come back as what I like to call "Blinkers", since they blink in and out of view randomly. It's almost like they're blinking between two instances. I know I've been one after relogging to find myself alone in an enemy keep because I was able to move around among a lot of enemy players without being noticed, though the NPCs noticed me just fine and are what eventually alerted everyone else to the Templar trying frantically to work her way out of that keep. I have noticed that putting a Purifying Light or Power of the Light on them seems to help bring them out of that state a bit more reliably, even if it's just long enough to CC them for a kill. CCs like talons also seems to be able to bring them out, if you're lucky enough to grab them in the millisecond they are visible.

In Cyro last week occasionally when my werewolf transformation wore off, I was invisible and rooted in place. Then yesterday, while in a world boss group in Rivenspire, all my group members turned invisible. But I could still see the blue health bar where their heads should have been, and the white group chevron, while they were still running around. Very strange!

I think this describes it the best.

Edit: Just want to add, the power of this invisibility glitch does wear off eventually. Not sure what triggers it to wear off but the enemy will see you if you hang around long enough.

I know this is a small sample @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom but I think its clear somethings going on. I'll be sure to log a tick when i'm next on if that helps get it rasied.

Lots of players are talking about it.

It might have been coincidence but what I found was if I heavy attacked them (restro) it seemed to keep them from blinking, but they popped when the attack ended - but it allowed my mates to burst them. Probably coincidence.

Probably should edit your posts guys with Platform / Region.

This has happened to me in Battlegrounds, enemy player was not a nb and it was weird seeing my health bar going down. I couldn't see them but I knew they were around bc I was taking damage and my teammates could see them.

Happened to me, I was able to walk through an entire enemy zerg untouched during a siege, took me a while to understand why everyone was ignoring me lol.
Until someone managed to stun me, from then on I was in every enemy reticule.

After dying and respawning I wasn't able to see my character but other players could no problem.

I've seen it happen to other players too, they seem to teleport around the battlefield... They can be targeted but you just have a split of a second to catch them, which is quite impossible unless they are standing still.

I guess it's unintentional, or at least I don't know how to replicate it at will.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom i think its clear somethings going on, and still a problem. Loads of players talking about it. I just reported it in game if you want the ticket references as the player this time fully knew it was happening and were taking advantage of it.

Same group in Cyrodiil also jumping through the postern walls.

Letting folks blatantly exploit is just bad for the player base in general, so many grumbles about it.

Def still an issue on Xbox. Had a full team blinking in Battlegrounds. But not the other so not lag. Both teams just gave up and sat on their balconies.

Cheat, bug or bug taken advantage of it needs a mention

Witnessed this twice while standing in Reaper's March. 2 different players blinking in & out of existence. so to speak. It was kind of like the players were appearing in the wrong instance of the zone.

Yeah i'm still seeing this also. Oddly not in IC even when Busy, so it doesnt feel like lag.

I wonder if its something players can trigger, with certain conditions.

Heard nothing back from the bug reports etc.

This seems to still be happening. Some teams just blink in and out and they are not NB's

Was playing battlegrounds and a sorc went invisible without any kind of animation. Tried to wait it out while vigilantly watching the open area in case he pops up, suddenly he popped up at the far end of the BG map.

This was happening last night on PC EU in Sotha.
Sorc outside Arrius kept attacking but was invisible/flickering every few seconds so impossible to target. Even used detect pot and didn’t do anything.

I've experienced something similar in PvE, just dismissed it as a graphical glitch, as sometimes monsters go invisible to me as well. (PC-EU Mac Client)

I'm not sure if I accedently tried to use quickslot(memento, costume or something similar) item, or changing Outfit, or switching bar, when it was glithcing...

Maybe some has figured out a way to reproduce the bug and can blink in and out of view at will.
